If for example you go up to the Sniper's usual cliff spot at Coldfront/Warmfront, then walk onto the boulder and turn slightly to the right to face the stone wall, you force the camera to zoom in, but not all the way, because there's still some empty space for the virtual camera to hover in beside the cliff wall, and you get a nice shot of your character with the shed and tress and mountains in the background.

If you stand with your face flat against the cliffside, it can be that you get part of what you're facing towards (i.e. a rocky cliffside) with you in the picture. Or the camera zooms into the head and all you see is nightmarish teeth. Those are the pictures I didn't show you. ;-)

That's the trick how you can force close-ups like i.e. these ones below:

While the taunt animation plays you can adjust the camera angle slightly, although a lot of the frame depends on your position you are standing in (and your angle to whatever is in front of your character's face) before you do the taunt. It takes a bit of trial and error.

Ah cool. I'll try it out.

Oh nice. I like the hat, and I like plasma. Did you uncrate it, or buy it?
Btw, if you want to get a better close-up during a taunt: force the camera to zoom in more by facing the wall, not away from it. The closer you stand to the wall, the more it zooms in (If you stand too close, like right in front of the wall, it might zoom into the model's head, though). Try it out. Look for a nice scenic background that gives good contrast with what you want to show. Does the plasma glow when you stand in a shadowy place, i.e. the CP shed on Warmfront/Coldfront or the hallway behind the exits to the bridge at 2fort.
