I found AX:EL to be a surprisingly fun game. It really reminded me of the old Arcade flight simulator games I used to play and love.

You start of by creating your own sci-fi looking aircraft, you can choose the type, weaponry, colors, body, wings and more. I actually had to cut in the movie a bit short because of all the customizations and options. Once the craft was ready the fun started.

The first fight I joined was a multiplayer game, it took a short while to get the hang of the controls but before I knew it the first enemy went down and I got hungry for more. The second game was a campaign mission. I had a bit of trouble finding some of the targets but later on realized you could dive under water which was a very original twist.

All in all a very fun dogfighting game, which you can play casually if you don't have a lot of time to spare. AX:EL is created by a one man developer "team" who is still very active and hotfixing regularly which is always a great thing.
