Like many Jason's, it takes time and practice to get good at them and knowing that you get to part 4 at level 44 (Which in my opinion I'm not a fan of, he's way too high of a level) You should know how to play Jason by now. Although all Jason's play slightly different than the next, so getting used to him might take time.

Before I say anything else, let's look what we're playing with.



Part 4's Positives Are:
+Can Run
Like I said in the beginning, this Jason in the movies could beat Usain Bolt in a race (That is if he didn't kill him first). Ingame he isn't as fast because if he was he could catch up to Jarvis or Venessa.
+Weapon Strength
Well, this one is simple, you're using a pig more split, which, ya know, has a giant ass blade on it which is used to cut off a pig's head.
+Destruction
Again, giant ass blade, enough said.

Part 4's Negatives Are:
-Water Speed
Dear god why the ♥♥♥♥ did they make his water speed so slow? If they get the boat ready, good luck trying to catch up because you are so slow.
-Shift
Honestly, isn't as bad as I thought it would be, it's still usable.
-Traps
They give you the bare minimum of traps, which is fine to me.

Gameplay: This Jason is definitely a chaser, once you find a counselor, there isn't much that is going to stop you from getting close. A door in the way? Give it 3 swings and it's down. Counselor running in the open? Chase them down. His negatives are why the F13: The Game Wiki say's he is worse than Part 7 (Again, rude). To quote what they said, "It can be argued that this Jason is worse than Part VII due to having not only the same weaknesses (Shift, Traps) but also having less Water Speed." This makes Jason a downgrade from part 7 if you are only looking at negatives. If you like a "run and gun" (for a lack of better words) style of gameplay, go play Part 4, if you don't you might want to find a different Jason.

Like I said earlier, you are made for the thrill of the chase, and you better do just that. Keep in mind you won't be able to catch up to anyone on foot alone, a shift will help get ahead of them. Unless someone screws up on a repair, steps into a trap or goes into your cabin don't stop chasing. With that said, don't go all tunnel vision on someone, if there's a group, focus on the one that is injured or doesn't have a weapon.

Knives are the best way to slow down fast counselors, if you're able to get 2 good hits on them they will be limping (If they don't have thick skin) and you can catch up pretty fast.

Your 2 most important abilities are shift and morph, but they are also limited, especially your shift, seeing it takes longer to recharge. Use them as little as possible, because if you use it at the wrong time, people might escape.

I'm going to break this down into a few simple things.

If they knock off your mask OR Tommy arrives: Play the game as normal, nothing to worry about yet.

If they knock off your mask AND Tommy has arrived: Keep your ears open and listen for the sound, and watch your cabin in case they triggered the trap and you didn't know.

If they have the sweater: Focus them, no matter what you must kill that person, target them.

If they have all 3 steps: I'm just going to take apart from my part 7 guide for this. " stay at a distance, but don't be a coward, Mommy didn't raise a coward. With the knives, you should have collected, target the sweater girl with the knives and kill her with the knives. Don't risk going in slashing and dying. If the sweater person uses a spray, wait for the animation to end unless you are sure 1 more knife will be the final blow." Of course, this won't always work, but try to cut their numbers down, and try your damnest to kill the sweater girl.

Personally, I'm not a fan of his playstyle. I like to go slow and steady and not rush into situations, unlike part 4 where I feel I have to go in and start the chance. I also don't like his downsides, sure he can chance someone when they're close, but once they start the car or boat, you're most likely ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I still got 7/7's and 8/8's (hell even some 9/8's) so I at least know I'm okay with this Jason. Again, this is my own opinion, and you can have your own.

Congratulations! You have made it to the end of this guide, now there’s nothing left to do besides load into Friday the 13th, load into a lobby, change your god awful Jason to Part 4, wait till you get Jason, and kill them all. Go out there and make Kane Hodder proud!
