The way that I got this achievement was by backing Lulu with cities (doesn't matter which, just no negative point Villages) and then only supporting her with the Crown. Between her 6 points and the Crown’s 14, it puts you at 20 and you get the achievement as the game ends on points.
I did NOT receive the achievement when I backed a princess without territories, used the Crown, and then ended the game by buying all Dukes.
Reading through the comments, I also tried backing princesses with the Imperial City territory alone and with other non-negative territories and then only supporting with the Crown, both of which ended with 22 total points. Neither of these options worked.
This can be easily obtained against yourself; Contribution, and Rampart, a domain with at least 2 cities. That is your golden combo, I advise either having two ramparts, or backing Klam-Klam(or both), and having other ramparts to buy. That is assuming you DON'T want to lo lose while literally playing against yourself.
Deleted this to repost it with an edit. The edit was to mention the needed domain qualities.
Couple of games not giving as much as I'd expect
However, considering the sheer volume of cards in the campaign deck and the amount of time it would take to optimally spend points, it might be helpful to have some pointers on how to farm up support points
In my quest to find if I could just edit the save file, amongst other things, I found that the amount of Succession Points at the end of the game is a variable within the formula for Support Point rewards; so a solitaire game where you end on 40 or more should net you something considerable. There's probably a supply set up though that could net you more
