It has been a while since the last update, hence you may run into some issues when trying to run the game on newer systems. Below you will find a list of most common problems and solutions.

Mouse stuck at intro screen? Achivements not counting? I experienced both issues myself when playing on the latest version of Windows 10. Thankfully, there is a fix:

1. Right click on The Swapper in your Steam Libary and press "Properties".
   
   
   
   
2. Go to the "Betas" tab and select "beta2025".
   
   
3. Wait for some files to update and play the game.
   
   

This may also fix other issues, so please try this step before doing anything else!


If you are playing a non-steam version of the game that was purchased from another store, you can try the following steps to fix the above described issue:

1. Download the fix files from Dropbox: Files[www.dropbox.com] / Virust Total[www.virustotal.com].
   
   
2. Unpack the ZIP to the The Swapper installation folder or copy & paste them manually. By default:
   
   
   C:\Program Files (x86)\The Swapper
   
   
3. This should replace the uncompatible files. Run the game an enjoy!

This issue is most likely caused by the game running on your integrated graphics card. In order to fix it, you will need to manually set the game to use the dedicated GPU via the driver software.

Here are the steps for Nvidia systems:

1. Go to the Nvidia Control Panel (right click on desktop).
   
   
   
   
2. Open the "Manage 3D Settings" menu and click on the "Program settings" tab.
   
   
   
   
3. Click on "Add", then "Browse" and find "TheSwapper.exe". You can find it's location by:
   Right clicking The Swapper on Steam library -> Properties -> Local files -> Browse local files.
   
   
4. Add the program and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" from the dropdown.
   
   
   
   
5. Hit the apply button and enjoy. Hopefully, this solves the issue.

If you encounter any other issues, you can try to solve it yourself as it might be a very simple problem e.g. outdated drivers. The game has a great logfile which can help determine the cause of the error. In order to access it locate the TrueEngineLog.txt file. Default path: Look for any errors and try searching for the solution. For example:
In this case, you should try updating your drivers, as the OpenGL is having issues.


However, if you have trouble solving it on your own, try copying the logfile to an online txt editor e.g. https://pastebin.com/ and posting about the issue in the discussions hub.
