"The newly built Dutch warfleet at anchor near the coast of Texel in june 1666.

After the first Anglo-Dutch war the Dutch State-General knew that the old fleet was no longer suited for fighting big naval wars, and so ordered the construction of new purpose built warships..
So when the second Anglo-Dutch war broke out in 1665, this new batch of warships would be ready for battle.

Here we see the new Dutch flagship De Zeven Provinciën (90 guns) in the centre, to the right side from there we can see De Walcheren (70 guns), in the background Gouden Leeuw (80 guns) and De Beschermer (50 guns), on the left side from the flagship in the background De Hollandia (80 guns) and Groot Frisia (74 guns), facing the viewer sideways we can see Gouda (70 guns), behind that also facing sideways (Amsterdam (64 guns), followed by Gelderland (60 guns) and Liefde (50 guns).

This new Dutch fleet commanded by Admiral De Ruyter would make sure that the Netherlands would win the second and third Anglo-Dutch war. And thus ensuring that the Netherlands would remain the dominant maritime trading power at that time.

Yeah, it sure is one of the fun playthrough you can have in EUIV.
Start small, and end it big.

My first game every patch is Holland> Netherlands. By far my favorite country. In many ways so easy to play and yet so very hard in others. Love the Orange Experience in this game so much.
