Open Game Settings > Graphics > Advanced Settings > Turn Off Screen Space Ambient Occlusion

I hope that helps, cause for me it with a GTX 970 my FPS was like 70 with it being on GTAO/HBAO+ after turning it off I get 90-100+ FPS.
