Siberian South East

A turbo guide that is essentially a copypaste of my post entry. I will show You where you can hunt (South East) and get relatively nice kills, be able to train long and short shots, train rifle, bow, magnums, or anything You want.

Siberia Spots for You!
COMRADES!
I am Drogowit, and I am here to show You Where to hunt for good monies, fame and stuff. Please note I am a newb in Call of the Wild and only had some experience in classic The Hunter, played many years ago. I came back to classic for 2 days then heard about this game and can't stop playing. Also please note that I managed to do all that You will find below with a starter rifle and occasionally I needed 375 magnum rewolwer.

Direction: South-East.
So, Siberia!
What You can shoot there? From what I have seen,You have fancy musk deer with teeth, wild boar, moose, reindeer and bears. I am not sure if I have missed something. We will focus on deer, moose and bears in this case.

Grab a rifle, get an ATV (if none, either walk or get someone on multiplayer to place a tent close to some bases) and go in 2 directions. I advise to get a friend because the amount of animals You spot is a bit overwhelming for 1 person.

You want to go to the South East (if we talk bears), there is a house in between 2 lakes, approx. 600-800 meters away from each. this is your favorite spot. the one by the massive lake can also be ok but it's trickier to find bears there. This is the location that I prefer:

Target: Everrrrything! And Bears.
Your main target will be Bear. if You have better rifle, also consider moose and reindeer. What I have also done and what was efficient, when I hanged around with a friend we shot the same animal at the same time to provide extra punch. Works great with low powered rifles or if you are not sure where to shoot.

Go at night.
Seriously. It makes you from my experience less visible, weather is usually great and at night in the SouthEast you see a lot of animals on the white puff all over the place.
You go to the above location and walk around the large open areas. I usually do noob thing and run around with binoculars on zoom until I spot something, then I start walking, then crouch-running (which is a great way to move around) and I look.

You will usually find packs of reindeers, some mooses, some deer and few bears in that area. Take a look at screen that I provided, on the west from the house I have killed 2 reindeers in the same spot, then I killed 1 bear and then the other. 4 Shots, 3 of them from same location. I lost one deer as I made a bad shot from +300m, so shame but i have to stick to 4 harvests.

Then You basically move around those areas where it is big and opened, avoid some trees between forests as they obstruct your vision a lot. I prefer some of the forests located close to the biggest lake due to nice visibility.

Tip: On that part of the map (not sure about rest) there is occasional strong wind. it enables You to move very silently when crouching, and sometimes when walking. Use it to your advantage. Please note that when You walk in open areas, animals will see you and run from around 200-250m. Just take it slowly, especially so You dont startle them with noise. Running noise can scare animals from +250m.
Stuff that matters but I don't care to sort it
FYI, this is a copypaste of one of my posts from the forums so I saved EDIT stamps.

EDIT as of 4:35 AM Brits time

I forgot important tips.
When shooting a bear alone, remember that it can and will charge you on some occasions. There is a pattern to limit this behavior when shooting it. First of all, if it is sideways, try to aim for the lungs. .243 rifle managed to kill a Bear in 1 shot on few occassions. If unable to, You can try with the lower spine and with brain. Bear has a thick skull and it is a bit tricky to hit it due to fat layer. You may need to discharge more than 5 rounds quickly with bad rifle and poor luck. I saved my butt sometimes with .357 pistol, works wonders.

When a bear charges you after your first shot or if it is fleeing, I do follow up shoots but not instantly. When you hit any animal, it makes that jerk move. Let it run for a tiny moment after that (and hope you dont miss) and shoot it again. Jerk move will mess up Bears logics and it may refrain from charging you. It definitely gives you time as it can stop and jerk like that for many times, making 5 second charge into a 10 second one. Matter of life and death.

If You find a bear standing up, do not do for the head but rather aim for the fron/back lungs or stomach. it is quite weak on the belly and I put it to sleep with some struggle with a single .243 shot basic bullet.

EDIT 2 as of 4:42 Brits time

Sorry guys I have dementia apparently.

Go to Your game settings (escape, system, game,) then change Field of View (3rd setting). Max is 130 but makes the game look like alien vs predator. It gives You a lot of angle of view. If You want to see Front as closer, just face down so top of your screen shows what is in front of you. Standard is i think 80. I run at 100 and am very happy that way. It helps to see more.

Also when scanning the fields, make sure you zoom in your binoculars at least by a bit. Animals often do not appear visible and i havent yet found a way to counter that.

And finally the last thing. I usually hunt there from 1:00AM until 7:00 AM, then i go back to camp, go multi or change area. i generally prefer to hunt at night as animals are more active.
Example screenshots from this area
10 minutes of work
Please find attached some screenshots from a particular hunt htat I made at 5:30-5:40 AM British time in the South East.

Take a note at the difference in my wallet and amount of hunted stuff. I spend 5 minutes for going to get ATV and collect corpses that ran away too far.

5 Confirmed shots. I also hit a deer but it was flesh wound so I abandoned it.

Please note that in this case I was using stronger rifle but for 1 bear I ran out of ammo and had to rely on weak rifle and magnum for the other. I was hit twice by bears.
