Fantastic Five: The funniest rounds in CS:GO history

There are many funny moments within the pro scene, and you've surely seen some of them. However, there are cases that make it into the CS:GO history. In this article, we're going to tell you about the 5 funnies rounds of professional players!

1. NiP vs Alternate aTTaX

Event: StarSeries IX (2014)

Let's begin with the distant 2014. The strength of Ninjas in Pyjamas was then fantastically great, and Alternate aTTax got in the middle of it. At a 13:1 score, the Swedish team decided to show unexpected strats: five Negevs, and then NiP demonstrated a new, previously unknown strategy.

2. Splyce vs CLG

Event: Austin 2016

It was DreamHack Austin 2016. The group stage didn't go well for team Splyce, though a victory in a match against CLG let the squad continue fighting for the playoff. Splyce got a match-point on the first map at a 15:11 score, and summit1g took an unbelievable clutch. You'd think it's impossible to lose a round when there are no enemies alive, and there's enough time to defuse the bomb. Well, this guy did.

3. KKona vs CLG

Event: CEVO Season 9 Pro League 2016

At the beginning of this moment, you may think that the main character is tarik from CLG who showed an incredible spray control. He isn't though. The American scene is full of talents, and sometimes they show something truly strange.

4. Navi vs CLG

Event: Open Cluj-Napoca 2015

Strats are cool, but something you need to take a risk and improvise. Zeus believed that fire can be beaten by self-confidence, but the cunning Molotov turned out to be too hot.

5. Sweden vs Finland

Event: King of Nordic (2015)

Knife rounds are usually not very interesting. The Swedes and Finns decided to change this rule and showed the most epic knife round in the history. Pistol juggling, fake planting and an escape that led the round to end in an unexpected way. It's worth watching.

1. Fnatic vs Dignitas

Event: ESL One Cologne 2014

It was the semi-final of ESL One Cologne 2014 where Fnatic faced off against Dignitas. The second map turned out to be intense and at a 14:14 score olofmeister decided to find the strongest — he or the molotov's fire. Success is never blamed.

2. Fnatic vs EnVyUs

Event: ESL One Cologne 2015

Exactly one year has passed since Fnatic made it into the final in Cologne. It took the teams a lot of time to find the strongest one on the first map then. In overtime, the Swedes secured two rounds and decided to try the 4 AWPs strategy. The French could hardly predict that, and when apEx decided to check the enemy's spawn, he saw something that probably changed him forever.

3. Team Liquid vs Fnatic

Event: ESL One Cologne 2016

A year later. Germany was hosting the major tournament again. You remember this moment for sure. Legends aren't born, they are made. The boost of energy s1mple gave to his team in that round left Fnatic no chance at all. There was no limit to the amusement of Team Liquid's fans.

4. Fnatic vs LDLC

Event: DreamHack Winter 2014

The legendary boost by olofmeister and scandalous comeback of Fnatic from a 3:12 score will be rememered for a long time. Indeed, the ironical sign saying "The climbing of this railing is prohibited" has been added to CS:GO.
Having failed the first half on the attacking side, Fnatic pulled their game changer out and made a surprise to the French. LDLC couldn't understand where they were getting shots from, and then, having found themselves under the pressure of unfairness, lost the map. The scandal went the round of the whole esports world, LDLC made a petition, and a huge quarrel between the supporters and opponents of such a boost happened on the forums.
As a result, the legendary comeback can't be called complete, since the judges of DreamHack considered it unallowable and gave the Swedes a forfeit defeat on the first map.

5. LG vs Team Liquid

Event: MLG Columbus 2016

The semi-final turned out to be intense for the Brazilians from LG. Team Liquid reached a match point at a 15:9 score. It seemed as though the Americans could celebrate a victory already, but coldzera had another plans. Perhaps, this was the situation after which Team Liquid couldn't get over. This way or another, the map ended with a 19:15 score in Luminosity's favor, and coldzera got his own graffiti which he well deserves.

Fantastic Five: Best comebacks in CS:GO history

1. Method vs Gambit Gaming

Event: CIS Minor Championship — Columbus 2016

The first map of the semi-finals of the CIS qualifiers for MLG Columbus 2016 turned out to be a real challenge for Gambit Gaming. The team literally destroyed their opponents from Method in the first half. Indeed, 1:14 isn't the best score for the T side here.

However, hooch and Co. might have believed in their final success and wrote off their opponents in advance, since the momentum was lost. The young and ambitious guys from Method didn't realize at once what chance they had got as the score was getting closer and closer, and here it was, 14:14 on the screen, and the commentators couldn't understand what was going on on Train. Not giving up and winning 15 rounds in a row is an achievement which is definitely worth remembering.

2. LDLC vs Fnatic

Event: DreamHack Winter 2014

Event: IEM Season X World Championship 2016

Hundreds of thousands of fans watched the battle of these two teams. The Brazilians were eager to win, but Fnatic would skillfully catch up with them by winning them on two maps. It was the third map's turn, LG couldn't make a mistake. Understanding that, FalleN and Co. gained an unbelievable momentum and earned 12 points on the defensive side. The Swedes realized they needed to push on the Brazilans and began coming back in the game after a failed score of 2:12.
The nervous of the legendary Fnatic roster didn't give in, and the comeback did happen! The Brazilians were upset and didn't even guess it was less than a month before their victory at MLG Columbus Major.

4. Virtus.pro vs North

Event: ELEAGUE Major 2017

The group stage of ELEAGUE Major 2017 was an easy walk for Virtus.pro, but right in the first play-off round the Poles faced a decent opposition from North. A winner of the third map would advance to the next stage, while a loser would leave the tournament.
The Danes performed a rather powerful defense and came to the side switching with a lopsided score for Virtus.pro of 12:3. However, the Polish legends had gained so much experience that in a short period of the pause time, they managed to pull themselves together and show their best. Virtus.pro won 13 rounds and lost only one. Such a tough loss for North, but what a comeback!

5. Virtus.Pro vs HellRaisers

Event: ESL Pro League Season 4

It's not an easy thing to deal with the Polish five, and the first half of the Cobblestone map turned out to be rather difficult for HellRaisers. Virtus.pro managed to take a confident score of 14:4, which left our team with almost no chances. All experience of the CS:GO Polish veterans didn't help them cope with the pressure of our guys. A round by round, HellRaisers were getting closer to the rival. The final 16:14 score brought a lot of joy to the fans! It's definitely worth re-watching such a match.

Fantastic Five: The most emotional commentators in CS:GO history

Each of them is a legend. You can't imagine the coolest CS:GO highlights without their voice.

1. Anders Blume

Anders started commenting CS:GO after the college. In 2013, he started working for NiPTV. His first appearance at the major tournament was at DreamHack Winter 2013 when the petition to add him to the talent list received more than 631 signs. Since then Anders has been one of the most famous and respected commentators in the world.

2. Igor«sL4M»Sopov

Igor Sopov is known by esports fans since CS 1.6. The beginning of his career started in 2009. sL4M had changed a few projects before he joined Starladder where he's been working for more than 5 years now. sL4M is one of the brightest representatives of CIS commenting. His jokes and phrases have become catch phrases, and his voice is known even by esports fans from other regions of the world.

3. Matthew«Sadokist»Trivett

Matthew is from Canada. He started commenting online matches on ESEA. His first big tournament was MLG Aspen Invitation. In his 28 he frequently comments major tournaments with HenryG. His voice pattern and emotional moments have become Matthew's calling card.

4. Rahim«Babam»Abdullaev

Rahim began as a commentator in 2010, but was remembered by the viewers after his second appearence in 2015. Constant bloopers, memes, communication with audience simply couldn't leave anyone indifferent. Someone likes such a way of commenting, others don't, but this unique style is Rahim's strongest card, and his hobby brings him joy in his free time.

5. Auguste«Semmler»Massonnat

Semmler started commenting with Bloodline Champions, then tried himself in StarCraft as a host. After that he switched to CS:GO. Together with Anders Blume he made a group of commentators called Room On Fire. His voice is recognized by millions of fans. The next video will start with one of the most effective and emotional moments of professional CS:GO of 2015.

Fantastic Five: Best Ninja Defuses in CS:GO history

You've got a smoke, the bomb is nervously ticking, enemies have sat somewhere, but you do know what to do and see no obstacles.

1. Virtus.pro vs FaZe

Event: IEM Katowice 2016

Let's start with a highlight that practically everybody, who is interested in professional CS:GO, knows. Snax is a true Polish ninja who bypasses obstacles and defuses bombs. Having passed through the FaZe players, he heard those very sounds and did what all Polish players wanted him to do.

2. Fnatic vs TSM

Event: ELEAGUE Season 1 (2016)

KRiMZ seemed to have become invisible for TSM in this highlight. A terrorist walked by paying no attention, our hero greeted him, but cold-bloodedly left the enemy alive and moved on. Why would you need a smoke if nobody can see or hear you?

3. affNity vs Team Liquid

Event: HTCReborn 10k Invitational (2015)

Sometimes all professionals have left to do is sit in a corner and hope his position won't be seen. That's what Arya did, having punished Team Liquid for the inattention. They rushed as strong as they could to stop him from defusing, but it was too late!

4. Dignitas vs EnVyUs

Event: DreamHack Masters Malmö 2016

It's very important to set a pace at the beginning of the map. Kjaerbye was the only one alive, and the French looked for him throughout the whole Inferno. The Dane though was very close to the bomb and didn't lose such a chance!

5. SK Gaming vs paiN

Event: ECS Season 2 NA Development League (2016)

Sometimes one man is enough. Especially if you're coldzera. The Brazilian showed paiN a master class, having sneaked to the bomb making no noise. What happened next? See it for yourself!
