How
  1. Select Quake Champions in your Steam Library
  2. Right click and select "Properties"
  3. Under the "General" tab, click "Set Launch Options..."
  4. Add the following line:
    --set /Config/CONFIG/maxFpsValue 125

It should look something like this:

If 125 is too little or too high, change the value to your desired frame limit.
Why
Because Quake Champions is still in beta, diagnostic data is constantly being uploaded while playing. Unfortunately, the higher your framerate is, the more data there is to send. This is probably(hopefully) the biggest reason the netcode has felt like total crap for months. Capping your framerate can help stabilize things a bit by ensuring you upload a constant amount of data with minimal variance from framerate jumps and dips.

There's an option in the game settings now, personally I'd use that over an external program.

Is it better to to use this method ^
over using Rivatuner? I'm capping using RTSS, with application detection level set to low..

It was really bad at the time. Some people even set their connections to half duplex and game performance was more stable that way, pretty hilarious actually.

Is this speculative or do you know this for a fact?
