Marienburg, City of the Wasteland

Beskrivelse
Now in GCCM!

**Updated: Fixed a deployment bug and the one allowing the camera to move underwater.
*Updated: Now with slightly better walls and slightly more visible, still not real easter eggs. They don't exist, you're thinking of beastmen.

"Finally, a Marienburg worth burning."
-Me, when I made this map

"Home of the thrice-accursed Emil von Korden, may he be ever spat upon in the deepest layer of hell."
-Also me; seriously, f*** Marienburg

Marienburg, City of the Wasteland
Marienburg is the last city to span the River Reik before it merges with the Sea of Claws. Don't let the campaign map fool you, it crosses the river, that's kind of its thing. It's old, like really old, and also really crowded because it's been continually growing in wealth and population since its founding, but is restricted to the only foundationally sound area in the region, a group of islands in the middle of a swamp. The swamp itself presents a hardly hospitable environment, and is definitely the hardest way to reach the city. As such, most attacks come from, and are anticipated to come from the water, so that's where fortifications are strongest.

Layout
Seeking to do the city justice, I included a couple of the more notable locations, like the Import-Export Exchange, Rijker's Isle and High Tower Bridge, but since Marienburg is the largest of the Old World cities, not all of it is accessible. Like I said, I wanted to do it justice, so it's huge.

The city is a network of isles and bridges, there's a lot of bridges, connected to the mainland by two large ones. Lorewise, only one of these should exist, but that just seemed wrong so I gave you a second.

Things Worth Mentioning
Bridges... I know I already said it, but there are a lot of them. The big ones are fine, the little ones are annoying. I've worked pretty hard to make them function well, but when spaces get narrow, deployment in Total War gets sketchy.

You've been warned...

If there's anything you want to see in this map, let me know, I'm trying to keep making it better and also continue adding places of note. I hope I captured the vibe well enough, that was most of my intention. Enjoy!

OH, and before I forget, huge thanks to the TWW Map Makers' community and Frodo45127, the Wazard God.

Peace.

I'll probably add it to GCCM on monday, I prefer not updating on the weekends.

@MoshPit_1337 This doesn't, but in a few days it will be added to the GCCM mod, which does that.

ca needs to pay you to use the maps you make this looks bad ass.

@Axlegolas My goal here wasn't to undercut Marienburg as a city in order to make it attackable from all sides, especially because it's only attackable from two angles in the lore, with the other walls being either too fortified, innaccessible or only accessible from the water. We don't have naval battles, though, so that wasn't an option.

I'd also point you toward a number of the dwarf maps, which are fantastically designed and very fun to play, yet are also only attackable from one, or at most two, walls. Marienburg is surrounded by water, so even if the whole wall were attackable, you're still going to have chokepoints on 1-3 bridges. Therein the size and angle of the walls would be sort of insignificant, since you'd still be inevitably forced to one of those spots to enter the city proper.

what is the difference or improvement to the siege maps of CA? Compared to the other custom maps of all the big cities where you get a feeling of a "real" tactical siege, i can't see any advantage of using yours? So why should it be added to GCCM? It just makes the GCCM files bigger for...well...nothing??!?
