Nautilus Submarine Ferry (S)

Commander Quinton McHale was nearing retirement following his brush with Major Vladikov. With his P.T. Boat blown to smithereens in his last bout with beer and billiards, McHale turned all his attention to courting his lovely Lieutenant Penelope Carpenter. This left Virgil in a bit of a bind. Him and Happy reenlisted in the Navy. They found themselves of all places serving aboard an atomic submarine.

It might have been a bad mix of CO2, fumes from the radioactive nuclear silos but 20,000 leagues below, deep in the bowels of the Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered attack submarine; Virgil was hard at work with an idea. He was reading about the capture of U96 in June of 44' by USTG-22.3. Virgil had discovered that the pressurized tanks of his Los Angeles class were based on the designs of U96. Turns out Happy's cousin was guard in Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago where the U96 was held. On their next day of leave, Virgil and Happy smuggled aboard designs and equipment to dope the tanks with LSD. By this time Virgil somehow managed to be next in line for XO. 3 hours into their tour across the Caribbean, Happy released the LSD and it wasn't before long most of the crew were screaming for the hatch to escape. Virgil had timed it perfectly. The Los Angeles-class was scheduled to climb to replenish the oxygen tanks. Happy had recruited a few to stay on board while 80% of the crew including her Captain disembarked.

What was all this trouble for? For your cims to live a life of ease in this yellow submarine of course.
