Gear-

Melee:
First, and foremost, bringing the lowest tier melee weapon to the battle is recommended. You only need it to cut ropes. The ropes are cut in one swing, regardless of the weapon used. [TO BE TESTED]: Using secondary attack on gathering tools. Shooting string with an arrow (I highly doubt this will work).

Ranged:
As I stated, using a short bow will work. It’s harder, but it’s doable. I’m not going to recommend a certain type of bow, but obviously long bows will be easier to use. What I will recommend to do is, use one type of bow, and stick with it. Be it short, normal, or long. The reason being, if you get used to using a short/medium bow, it will be easier than getting used to a long bow, and not having access to them all the time.

Armor:
I recommend the highest tier speed armor you’re willing to lose. I’ll let you decide what that is on your own terms. The best way to live is to not get hit/crushed at all.

Arrows:
In theory, you wouldn’t need a full stack to kill the boss. In actuality, it might take 2-5 or even more stacks of arrows. Keep well stocked.

Testing-

I would recommend taking a solo trial run or two before going on and official run. That way you can get acquainted with the boss and a feel for the mechanics of the fight.

Prep-

Food:
You’ll need food. I would suggest having your hot bar filled with it, aside from what weapons you have. I usually bring 30 pieces, although I’ve never used that many. It’s good to be prepared.

Physical & Mental Prep:
It’s not an extremely long battle, but I would suggest you prepare yourself for an hour of not being able to do anything else. You’re going to want to plan ahead. Use the bathroom. Drink some water. Scratch your nose. Do what you need to do. While fighting the boss, you will not be able to stop very easily.

Extra prep:
You might want to demolish your main bag, and put a bag down closer to the boss so you can get your stuff and keep trying if you die. You may also want to put down a hut with a box that has a few extra bows, and stacks of arrows, if you want to quickly jump back in the fight.

Fighting the Boss:

Stamina-
The blue bar bellow the boss’ HP, I’ll refer to as the Stamina. This bar is required to be depleted before you can climb the boss. The only way I know of doing this, is by shooting the boss’s right knee. There is a target. After shooting the knee a few times, it will drop to its hand and knees, and you will be able to climb its right arm. You may need to jump and hold on at the same time.

Your own stamina is also important. Try to conserve it as much as possible while fighting, and climbing the boss. If you’re climbing, and it reaches 0, you will fall, presumable to your death, unless you’re lucky, and catch a platform. The boss can do shaking maneuvers that will lower your stamina to half while climbing, so try not to let it get bellow half while climbing.

While fighting, the main goal is to dodge its attacks. This is half of the battle. No, dare I say it’s three-quarters of the battle. If you see the boss start to stomp, or throw something, run away from the stomp/ rock.

Parkour-
Simple really. Just hold on and move. Hold your parkour button, which is defaulted at right click, and use your movement keys to navigate. Don’t let your stamina run under half if you can help it, and hold on. Don’t even let go to swat the mosquitos.

Ropes-
There are three ropes, you must cut down all three to beat the boss. They only take one hit. On the last one, you should hold onto the boss so you don’t fall. It will drop three souls, and a good amount of other loot.

There are a few things I left out of the guide (Including a loot table), and I will update them as I get time, and as I figure more stuff out. Shoutout to Tomcat, who helped me on my first successful hunt.
