To find Old Blue, go to islands with coordinates at least 25 units in both directions, as you are more likely to find him. He can be found on any size of islands, and even on pirate islands. He respawns after killing, so you don't have to worry about finding him again after killing him. WHAT TO LOOK FOR ON ISLANDS: You will not see him perched in a tree or in a nest. He will be soaring around above the island in a set path, so he does not just wander. So be looking up on islands, not down. He is HUGE and much easier to tell apart from seagulls and other normal birds. So look for suspiciously huge bright blue birds soaring over the island. CHARACTERISTICS: He's huge and blue (obviously) with untucked yellow legs and tail, with yellow-tipped wings, with red tips on the yellow. His head sticks straight up, with a very small black beak, and large bright yellow owl-like eyes with black pupils.

You might not be expecting this, but Old Blue doesn't actually attack you. He won't drop egg bombs, or come down and peck you. He just soars around while you try to attack him. So if you were expecting a huge epic battle, you should probably go fight a Pirate King. But, he's still very hard to kill. You must use arrows to shoot him down. I've used about 70 arrows and only hit him once. So make sure to stock up on arrows. So Poison Arrows and Splintering Arrows would be useful during the fight. Try to get to the highest point on the island, and try to hit him from there. If he's out of range, try to get to the most open area on the island. One technique is to try to make him fly into your arrows by shooting in front of him. Another is to try to get directly under him and shoot straight up. A new tip I found out about is that if you have a large ship, such as any of the Maidens, Old Pirate Ships, or one of the Pardon Pushers, you can interact with the ropes on the side of your ship to climb to the crow's nest, and shoot him from there.

Blue Feather: Has no other use except for sold to merchants for fifty gold, and making Blue Feather Arrows.



Blue Feather Arrow: A rare and powerful arrow crafted with Blue Feathers. Crafting Recipe:1 Wood Log, 1 Blue Feather, 1 Flintstone=3 arrows.




Blue Feather Belt: +2 Health Regeneration, +2 Stamina Regeneration, and -5 Weight.




Blue Feather Cape: A rare cape. When the you equip the cape, you are given the buff Slow Fall, causing you to fall much slower for 30 seconds. To get the buff again after that point, you must unequip and equip the cape once more. (from Salt Wiki)
