ABANDONED Smash or Pass: Species Phenotypes 3.8

Omschrijving
I take no pride in this, but it had to be done.

A lightweight min-mod that removes some of those less sensible vanilla species from random generating in game.
Note: portraits are not removed from manual selection, only from AI random generation.
Pre-scripted empire settings are partial affected.
• As a side effect, your favorite or customized species (if any) tend to be randomized more often.

The formal rule is this: anything that could not convince me it can be explained with convergent evolution had to go.
In practice this means the following:
  1. Clearly terrestrial is most likely kitsch.
Mammalians and Avians are decimated here. But being a bug, sealife, flower or a mushroom is no excuse either.
  2. Inspired by human mythology/fantasy literature is automatically trashed.
No space elves, space orks, space dwarfs or space cyclops (you can exclude them, see below).
  3. Feathers, leafs or octopus tentacles is most likely a red flag.
Even if they survived point 1, these organs are only tolerated if the rest of the design has considerable merits.
  4. Inspired by pop culture is a red flag.
If they just barely got away with previous points, they have to go now.

Compatibility
• The original file naming is kept, so compatibility with species mods is kept recessive directly on load order.
• The games checksum is changed, which means this mod is not in Ironman mode suitable.
Save-games are also affected (new in 3.6).

Recomendations
If you like the human fantasy races, you can re-enable them with these special mods:
Space Fantasy Empires pack or Space Fantasy Empires Evolved.

Credits
This mod is inspired by ASpec’s Smash or Pass: All Phenotypes (no match) and ZT's True Aliens (take this mod if you want more restriction).

tl;dr keep it to yourself about your uncomfortable guilt you apply to species in stellaris

@Reianor your mindset is fundamentally closed minded which is a terrible combination with pretending to have critical thought, please don't project your fantasies onto people but i doubt you abstain from that even in ideology

Used this mod to get rid of some of the more ridiculous creatures from the game. Despite the mod description however, said creatures have also been removed from creation for a custom empire. They are totally gone from the Species appearance tab altogether.

Srry but I have to ask, what files should I modify to add or remove species from spawning? I just want that molluscoid portrait that is a slug with a big nose to dissapear, everytime I see it i go on a genocide rampage

There are actually mods that remove double the amount. And not just soft but hard.
E.g. No Goofy Portraits
There are actually 208 playable vanilla species portraits, this mod excludes only 36 (= 17.3%).

@Reianor Based. Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

P.S.
Want a funny perspective on creation?

Look at fictional characters in a fictional plot.
They'll have memories, "knowledge" of history and an entire civilization they share that "history" with, while in fact they are two pages old and started "existing" within their world on the same morning that their plot started, right alongside that said world.

For all we know that could easily be us.
But that's beyond the point and frankly a bit to much philosophy for a simple comment thread.
