Can't even play the game. I spent over a half hour trying to load a campaign, but every time it looks like it's going to load, then just goes back to the previous menu. No solutions I've found on the internet worked. What a let down. Was looking forward to playing this too.

I keep trying to like this game, but I don't care for the progression system. I don't like the fact that so much seems to depend of looting and reading magazines instead of just doing stuff. Can gather water to boil either, odd choice by the devs. I feel like it's a little too complex for my preference, which I'm sure will piss some fanboys off. If you like Day Z, you might like this game. I'm bummed I didn't get around to playing it in time for a refund.

Nope, not for me. It's not that it's a bad game by any means. It definitely delivers what it's advertising. I loved the setting and the graphics create a beautiful natural environment that I would have loved to spend more time in, but I just think it's too boring. It's not that I don't love sims. I grew up in a farming village in the midwest and I love Farming Simulator. It's not that I don't like difficult/tedious progression. I've spent hundreds of hours playing survival crafting games like ARK, Grounded, Green Hell and Sons of the Forest. But what sets those games apart from this one is...dialogue..and lots of it, and those other games are more task oriented. With KCD II, sometimes it seems like dialogue goes on with no end. Same reason I didn't care much for Witcher 3. Then, when you DO get to engage in combat, that too is fairly boring and tedious. Although I was hoping to enjoy the combat more because I'm a big fan of For Honor and both games have a similar guard stance system, but this game's combat is just too slow. However, if you enjoy dialogue rich games like Witcher 3 or maybe LA Noir, and don't care too much about slow moving combat, then you will definitely enjoy this game. I walked into this knowing that I don't generally care for these things, but I wanted to give it a shot because I found the setting interesting. I can confirm that this game is simply not for me, but thankfully I grew bored of this game before the 2 hour mark, so I can get a refund.

Not sure why people are hating on this game being repetitive. It's a sports game. Albeit a fantasy sport, but all the same, all sports games are a repetition of the same game over and over again. Whether or not you enjoy the experience depends on whether or not you enjoy the play loop. I'm a HP fan, but not a die hard one. I didn't read the books as a kid or anything, but I can say that I find this game fun. There's not a lot of content as far as cosmetics go, but there is a little bit of a leveling grind, so you'll have a reason to grind early on. So far I haven't had many problems getting into matches online, sometimes I have had to wait 4 or 5 minutes to get into a 6v6 in I want to play a specific position OTHER THAN KEEPER, but 3v3 matchups are always fairly quick. I have also had a couple of instances where the game said that I wasn't connected to the game server, but so far a quick reboot of the game has always fixed that.

An update from a while back made the game incompatible with a gamepad. You can do a customized mapping to fix it, but then the game can't give you any button prompts for various actions, leaving you having to guess. Also the game is poorly optimized. I can play Red Dead 2 at 1440p, as well as almost every other game, at medium to high settings, but I have to bring this one down to 1080p to get 60 fps and my PC's fans go nuts the whole time.

This game is great and I was very captivated at launch. Put the game down for a while and decided to give it another go a couple days ago to check out the new updates. Still think it's a fun game, but is ruined by janky gamepad controls. If you use keyboard and mouse, you probably won't run into as many issues, but many of the gamepad controls are completely broken. The layout is fine, but many of them don't work as intended. It's as though the different controls that are implemented for different interactions are fighting with each other. For example, Y button crouches, Y button also interacts with merchants, but still activates crouch. Right trigger should rotate structures while placing them, but instead cancels structure placement. Also a problem I encountered for both gamepad and mouse is that when you hold the button to draw an arrow from bow, you release the button and sometimes the arrow doesn't shoot and the arrow remains drawn as though you were still holding the button down. Spamming the shoot button doesn't shoot the arrow either when this happens. Animal you were hunting escapes or attacking bandit kills you. Very infuriating. I love using gyro aiming and when I can, I use gyro as mouse because mouse is more responsive. Few games allow gamepad and mouse functionality and this game is one of them, which is awesome, but when I activate gyro to mouse, a mouse cursor shows up on the screen while aiming. Doesn't happen when using only mouse and keyboard though, so I couldn't begin to guess why it would in this specific scenario, but it's very distracting. There were many other problems with the controls that I encountered but didn't really write them down and can't remember them all. I hope they fix these issues, because it really is a gem of a gaming experience. Even with these frustrations, I put up with them for over 70 hrs of play. Done now though.

Same feedback as everyone else. I've been playing Tekken since 3, Street Fighter since II, Mortal Combat and Soul Calibur since the originals. Tekken is my favorite of all of them, so I pre-ordered 8. Now they want me to pay for an OG character like Gordo. GFY. Done. Never buying another Tekken game again.

As most people have stated, performance-wise, this game is pretty demanding. However, not unplayable. I'm playing on a 3060 laptop GPU and I am getting 45+ fps most of the time and I do get some frame drops and stutters hear and there, which at first I wasn't too happy about. I immediately refunded the game, but then repurchased it by the end of the same day. It looked that good. I had second thoughts about whether or not I wanted to experience the gameplay further. I have NO regrets about having a change of heart and going back and giving it a second chance. Plays much smoother than the original (of course I'm referring to the GAME MECHANICS, NOT FPS). Looks SO much better, even with the graphics settings turned . All in all, a noteworthy upgrade to the original experience, well worth it to any who enjoyed evolution, as well as to any who are thinking about experiencing Ark for the first time. Just know that in the game's current state, it IS a give and take scenario. Performance is a little rough at times, but overall it's a fantastic experience. Don't know if this is true or not, but I saw a comment saying to TURN OFF WATER AND FOLIAGE INTERACTION or your game WILL CRASH. I just turned those features off from the get go, and I have yet to experience even 1 crash, even on my laptop so...

This game is great for any who enjoy a challenging survival experience. It can be quite tedious at times as you will have to walk for while from town to town. Resources are very scarce, and when and if you do gather the necessary resources to start feeling comfortable, there's always the possibility of running into another player who'll try to kill you and take your stuff. But if you have the patience for all of that and are willing to die several times while you learn the complex system for interacting with, using and appropriately combining items (I've found this to be the most difficult aspect of the game by far), then you will definitely enjoy this "survival simulation".

Much more directly interactive than WoW. You actually have to aim instead of just hitting the tab button and watching cooldowns. More directly interactive. Beautiful world. Friendly community.
