One of the best DLC's ever made, and I could see the argument for it being *the best*. What else is there to say? If you've played the base game and want the same feeling of wonder again I can guarantee that you'll get it here. Like the base game it's best if I say as little as possible but all you should know is that it's just as good as the base game and even in some cases BETTER. This DLC does take a bit of a more horror approach to it but it isn't on the same level as a full on horror game yet if played in the right environment can be quite frightening, but I feel that only added to the DLC's atmosphere and I personally thought this approach was fantastic, it may not be right for everyone but I believe that if you enjoyed the base game this is a no brainer.

You've probably seen other reviews saying things like "stop reading and go play it for yourself" and they're right. This game is best when you know nothing about it. But I will give you the most surface level information possible. If you don't wish to know, stop reading and go play this masterpiece.

That being said, Outer Wilds is one of the best games I've ever played. A game where you play as an astronaut exploring your solar system and learning more and more about the ancient civilzation that inhabited it before. You slowly learn more and more the more you explore, and that moment when you finally put the pieces together and realize exactly what's going on in your solar system, it's one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. The environments and soundtrack are amazing aswell and give the world so much personality.

This is a game about exploration first and foremost. You have every tool you need to finish every puzzle in the game, but what you are missing is knowledge, knowledge that you can find in the world by exploring.

I'd rather not say too much because again, it's better if you play it without knowing anything. Just know that you are about to experience a game you'll never experience again.

Phenomenal DLC that features one of if not the best boss in all of souls. You get a good amount of content for your money and the new environments are beautiful and fun to explore. Also the bosses are all great apart from 1, and overall it's just a great DLC that is worth your time and money. If you like Dark Souls 3, you're gonna LOVE The Ringed City.

8.5/10

A mediocre DLC with an absolutely fantastic boss at the end. I'd only recommend buying this if you are a die hard souls fan and is craving more Dark souls 3 content. But if you are tight on money I'd recommend buying only the Ringed City DLC or just going out and buying a different souls game altogether if you want more souls content.

But if you've played all the games and just want more, go for it.

Dark souls 3 is a great game, but a slightly above average souls game. It's better than most games already simply because it comes from a great franchise but as soon as you start comparing it to others in the franchise it isn't quite as good in my opinion. I'd say about a third of the game is bad, a third is alright, and another third is incredible. But the quality isn't split into 3 distinct thirds, instead these thirds of quality switch in and out of eachother at any point. When you enter a boss arena, there is a 33% chance it's a bad fight, 33% it's alright, and 33% it's a great boss, (and 1% chance it's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ deacons of the deep). This goes for not just the bosses but for locations too. I hear a lot of praise about the bosses in this game and yet I feel like most people forget about bosses like rotted greatwood, deacons of the deep, crystal sage, ancient wyvern, high lord wolnir and so on. Even bosses like oceiros and aldrich I would consider mediocre. There are highlights in the bosses yes, (Soul of cinder, nameless king, abyss watchers, dragonslayer armor). But overall the boss quality is really inconsistant and I don't think this game has the best bosses fromsoft has to offer. But the bosses aren't the only thing that is inconsistant. The locations are just as bad if not worse when it comes to being inconsistant. There are great areas like lothric castle, irithyll of the boreal valley and I even like the grand archives. But then you have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like farron keep, cathedral of the deep, catacombs of carthus, irithyll dungeon, and the undead settlement. As a souls game it's extremely hit and miss, as a game in general it's a good game because of it's combat, rpg elements, level design etc. But these aren't things new to souls games, most of them have all the same pros that ds3 has, which makes it hard to stand out compared to the others. There are some things this game does better, such as the lore, soundtrack, and a few bosses are truly incredible. But as soon as you start comparing ds3 to most of the other games in the series it starts to fall apart. If you are looking for more souls, with occasional great moments, and generally more of the same. You'll love this, but if you are expecting the best souls game, with the most standout bosses/locations and levels. You are better off playing some of the others.

A 6/10 souls game, but an 8.5/10 game.

Even though I am not recommending this game Ds1 is a good game with many many problems thanks to its age, I bought the remastered version which might I add is one of the worst "remasters" ever. It's essentially just a 1080p 60fps patch being sold as a "remaster" it fixes some bugs but overall isnt a good remaster, but im here to talk about the game itself, and its just alright. Firstly, the game features HEAVY backtracking, after beating a boss later in the game you unlock the ability to travel between bonfires but that doesn't really make sense to me. If you want to encourage backtracking, then commit to it, don't just add the ability to fast travel later on. Now, I prefer to have the ability to fast travel from the start, but having the feature added in later on in the game gives a sense of uncertainty in the games design. Also the bosses pale in comparison to sekiro and bloodborne, they aren't nearly as hard and when they are its usually because you need to use a mechanic the game hasn't told you exists yet, and once you do figure out that mechanic, the boss becomes impossible to die to. Take the "Bell gargoyles" for instance, trying to fight them normally is hard as ♥♥♥♥, until you learn how to summon solaire and they become normal enemies. You have to watch video after video trying to learn how to beat the bosses. You could just chalk this up as "get good lul" but to me it seems like difficulty for the sake of difficulty rather than actually good design. The combat itself is fine, with a fun backstab and parry system, it is a little slow but I came to like and enjoy the slowness of the combat over time, until I got to a boss that is. And 1 more thing about the bosses, instead of having well placed checkpoints like sekiro where after you die it takes about 10 seconds for you to try again, you have to RUN ACROSS HALF THE MAP TO GET BACK TO THE BOSS. This makes the bosses way more tedious to fight because I'd die trying to get back to them multiple times, that isn't fun or challenging, it's just tedious. But the lore and universe is what I believe to be the best thing about the game, its extremely interesting and is filled with great themes and characters with their own interesting backstory, the opening cinematic is one of the best openings to a game ever, and really sets the tone perfectly, and the soundtrack makes the world even more interesting and mysterious. The leveling system is also great, combining currency and xp into one is genius and if you die, you lose them all, it adds a fun risk/reward mechanic and I thought it was well executed well. But apart from the world, combat, and leveling system, the game is quite overrated in my opinion. There is great level design as well, but being forced to spend so much time backtracking makes it a lot more tedious, and ruins the great level design by forcing you to run through the same areas over and over. It feels like you spend most of the game "trying to get to the fun part" rather than just trying to make the game in its entirety fun. Who honestly thought that spending around 30-40% of your game time walking back and forth through areas you've already been in was fun? I would rather have a game be fun from start to finish even if it's 10 hours long, rather than a game that is stretched out to 40 hours, with only small moments of fun. Overall, ds1 is a good game with many many tedious design choices, and I think that it doesn't hold up incredibly well today.

6.5/10 Good game, with extremely tedious ideas.
