I'm not going to hop on the usually bandwagon that this game is bad, But I will say objectively it is sub par. Resident Evil 3 Remake is simply not worth 60 whole dollars. The game will take you only 5-6 hours at best to complete and that is only if you are a hoarder like me. Nemesis has his moments early on but then in mutates into a generic monster that chases you during scripted events. The best part of the game is he street phase, but it is too short. Nemesis is in his first form is actually intimidating. He is fast, has a tentacle grab and can stalk the player while they are in stores. But we don't see this nemesis and that is the real problem. It is no wonder they took his name out of the title, his impact on the game is almost minimal.

The redesign of Jill and Carlos are very controversial but I generally think they are worse than the original. Personally Jill's redesign is unlike her in other games; I don't have a problem with her face change and I thing she looks very attractive but her generic tough woman attitude with her swearing is so out of character that it bothers me. Carlos' redesign looks decent, the only real change i noticed was the hair and voice. I don't mind the hair but I hate that they removed his Spanish accent, it made him a more memorable character IMO.

The start of the game is essentially a drawn out cutscene where all you do is watch and press W but after that the game is fine in that regard, I have no problem with the controls as the RE Engine is great, and the game looks gorgeous, but I hate that so much content was cut that was in the original. The game does have some replayablity but that is not enough to save it sadly. I have yet to ever try the multiplayer and I think they should have just completed the game they were trying to make instead. It's clear that this game was rushed, and it is disappointing to say the least.

Resident Evil 2 Remake, unlike the Resident Evil 3 Remake, takes original content and expands upon it. The game is quite simply a masterpiece. It maintains a creepy atmosphere, and brings back the true survival horror experience. Ammo is scarce and the zombies are more threatening than ever. The common complaints people have towards the game are solved by a simple "git gud", but I will list them anyway. Also the Resident Evil Engine is gorgeous and they made it clear they have abandoned the horrid fixed camera angles and the outdated tank controls.

Common Complaint 1: "The zombies are too tanky."
-While this is true it serves a gamplay purpose, that being it has tight corridors and few zombies compared to re4 and re5 where you can get swarmed. This makes the game scarier because zombies are to be feared and not be some bullet fodder.

Common Complaint 2: T-00 (Mr. X)
Mr. X is first seen as scary and rightfully so. His A.I. is quite advanced and can find you faster depending on how much noise you make. People then argue after many playthroughs he becomes annoying but just like the zombies he serves a gameplay purpose. After the player gets over the initial fear of the police station atmosphere and zombies, a new tension is added, a pursuer. This constant pressure from the Tyrant will keep players on their toes and this is a good thing for horror.

Common Complaint 3: "Ammo is too scarce."
Most Modern fans of the series started with Resident Evil 4; Resident Evil 4 is excellent, but it spoon-feeds the player ammo and herbs which as a result, destroys the survival horror experience. RE2 Remake sticks to the roots of the original and it catches the newer fans off guard.

The pros of the game far outweigh the cons: excellent controls on PC (Which is rare for PC RE games), simple but effective story, good puzzles, great exploration, and the spawn of infamous Redfield lineage meme. The game is polished and made with love and I hope Capcom keeps this trend for the upcoming RE8 and the RE4 Remake.
