This 'game' is more watching one animation or another complete ad nauseam than something you interact with. You're just there to watch it auto-battle, collect items, or craft items then move from Level X spot to Level X spot +1. I'm sure some people might find this fun, personally I require a bit more gameplay in my game.

Found out that they want to delete your progress every two months. I'll do one better and delete your game first.

The game seems promising, but it appears the dev's focus is is spray and pray instead of focusing on finishing parts of the game. There are so many half implemented systems with notes and warnings that it is offputting. Personally, I feel that if you haven't finished with the second city then do you have a third city and a bunch of smaller island towns in the works too?

1. There is very little to do in the game once you get past the intro as out of my current 12 active quests the only ones I'm able to complete (Don't have "Developer Note: Not ready yet") are four kill boss quests.

2. Giving items to keep your sailors happy makes no logical sense at all. Sometimes giving them a rusty shovel (50gold) trash will make them happy, other times a Purple Ring (1500gold) will make them mad. Also since you can only give them one item a day you're stuck with them being unhappy, and them being unhappy in battle really can turn a easy fight into one you can lose.

3. Random events during battle are way overtuned. When (because you will, and often) you get a shark, iceberg, or siren event the battle becomes far more difficult than it really should be for how often they occur. The shark is by far the worst as it will do an inane amount of damage to your crew. The worst thing is these events don't seem to cause nearly the same amount of carnage to the enemy ships as they do yours.

4. Combat becomes very repetitive and downright obnoxious once shields come into play.

As I really enjoyed Rocket Slime on the 3DS I really hope that a lot of improvements come to the game, but as of right now I recommend holding off on purchasing this until more systems are implemented beyond a bare bones state.

The Crucible is just not fun at all and is supposed to be the endgame we run repeatedly for right now and I assume will be the end of every chapter going forward. Its honestly just pure annoying stress, nothing more.

The Crucible starts with you giving up a randomly dropped/found item then wait for a silly animation to start each and every run. Runs consist of you going through the same ~5-6 stages with randomly spawning groups of enemies (pray you don't get two or more shield guys together) with a Boss encounter at the end.

If the enemies themselves weren't bad enough you get to contend with more of the inane map. What do I consider inane? Well, here they will have you fight multiple enemies in tight locations sporting lots of great spots for you to fall off from, get knocked off of, or attack animate over the edge of during combat. Thankfully they didn't make us do it (yet at least) under the effects of the mushroom like the Potion Seller Quest, yay for the small victories!

So, you made it through all those floors, past all the potential pitfalls, all the groups of two or more shield guys (with 360° block abilities 0.0001 second after attacking that would make Neji from Naruto look like an amateur), your reward a chance at fighting the Echo Knight!

Now here I must pray you are a health build with full plate armor or have some cheese setup for this fight because it’s not just one phase, its two! Why would you want a build like this for the fight you ask? Well, because if you die (hopefully not in the first few seconds of the fight!) then you have to start all over, no my friend, not the fight, the whole thing from offering the item waiting for that silly animation to clearing the floors. Each. And. Every. Attempt.

Seriously, who thought this would be fun? Then, because I'm done with the game myself for the foreseeable future, I looked up the rewards and it’s not even a guaranteed chance at a legendary from the boss itself, and some chests in a room behind it which from what I've read for my build would be some dual daggers that aren't as good as the ones you can buy from the Blacksmith since the beginning of the game.

For Mikey if you decide to copy/paste your response to me too: I didn't buy the game on your website, I bought it here. If our feedback is so valuable, why don't you, the Community Manager, relay our feedback from here to the developers?

Cheers!

I had an absolute blast playing this and really can't wait for the early access/full version. Kinda bummed about it being such a long wait though!

The game shares a lot of similarities to Terraria and Corekeeper, with some Forager style animations. If you enjoyed any of those you really need to give this a try. Just don't try to run off as soon as you start without talking to the Guide, he gets uppity with you if you do that. :D

The music was right on point, great job whoever made this, it gave me that familiar feeling of Terraria which instantly put a smile on my face but was still its own piece.

The only issues with the game are the following design issues:
1. Being able to buy equipment/tools beyond what you currently have is overpowering and defeats the progression path. I found iron tools on one of the wandering vendors when I had just got my copper ones.

2. Potions are extremely tedious to craft versus just buying them.

3. Can't change the controls or even see what they all are if you are using mouse/keyboard.

Game can be a lot of fun even without anyone else. The dead servers were actually neat in a way lending to the feeling of being alone after the robot uprising on Mars.

The reason I don't recommend the game is due to the fact that the servers are down more than they are up nowadays. If you aren't in the game the second they come back up to refresh your base you've probably lost everything to the person who was. I wanted to get all the achievements, but after losing 90hrs of playtime and the inability to unlock them on unofficial servers I'm just leaving the game behind - much like Limbic and 505 Games.

Why are you reading reviews? Did you not see the Overwhelmingly Positive rating, or are you just looking for the negative ones? :D

When the demo build of your game is more stable than your release version you know you have problems.

I played the demo for around 30 hours with no major issues aside from the dumb as a rock AI (Good thing this isn't a colony building game where you have to rely on them). Now with the 'Release' version I got about half that time and can't even play the game anymore!

I load my save, play for 5-10 minutes and the game crashes. Load the game again, I've been reset back to where I was. I've tried placing a box and putting some stuff in it then saving and quitting only to find when I log back in that it was as if I never did that.

So making any progress is impossible now. I've even tried rolling back to an older backup of my save from the previous day only to have the crash happen again and get put back in the same state. Don't waste your money here.

If you like more freedom in your games, Valheim's progression, plus being able to move your base close to where you are for your progression you'll love this game! It is a bit short on content (as of 4/3/23) if you just rush it, but the base building easily gave me a lot more time with it - being able to rotate the pieces x,y, and z allowed for a ton more creativity with it than just static pieces.
