Honestly my rage with Anvil Game Studios cannot be understated. First off, lets talk about the name "Anvil Game Studios" This name is clearly implying some type of heavy work going on, as it takes lots of strength and work to work with anvils as a blacksmith. This is not the case with Holdfast. The amount of times I've seen the so called "Developers" slack off and sit on their asses as the community grows tired of this abomination of a game, its hard to watch, its upsetting. Now, lets talk about the actual game itself. While Holdfast can be fun in some of the more organized "regiments" it is very hard to enjoy as a public player. What can you do when one of the degenerate melee sweats gets close enough to you so that they can use the small amount of skill they have to stab you, its stupid. They will constantly exploit game mechanics such as crouch stabs, feints, and spins, which are almost impossible to block. Anyways, the game lacks content. Some of the factions are lackluster, Italy and Russia in particular, with Italy being a recolor of France, and Russia feeling like a less flushed out version of some of the other factions. It'd also be stupid to ignore the fact that AGS fails to listen to the community, who have been asking for an Austria faction since the game released. And now, as of 4/29/2021, they have the audacity to add Italy. ITALY. There are so many more interesting and impactful faction, Austria, Spain, Confederation of the Rhine, to name a few. It's utter blasphomy that we have to wait for a new faction every half a year/year, only for the faction to be a lackluster recolor of a current one. Moving away from this, the playerbase is toxic. While the normal pub players are pretty cool, the regimental players are horrible. Being insulted by a regiment player after I shoot him as a rifle is not cool, especially when it happens on a daily basis. This game needs to change, if it cant, I'm afraid for its future.
