To be honest, its hard to get bored of Primal Carnage. You run, kill, die, and repeat and its chaotic as heck! Each dinosaur is unique in their own ways and you can really develop tactics with each dinosaur/flying reptile. One of the most notable issues is how everything in the shop is WAYYYY too overpriced so i don't reccomend buying much if anything at all.

I have played this game for over 50 hours now, and in that time i have come to realise how detailed and beautiful the game is. It has an incredibly useful, easy to understand Modular System which allows you to build incredible structures made from materials such as Bamboo, Bricks, Plaster and Wood. The Animals (whilst not having many animations and requirements as of now) look outstanding! They are as paleo-accurate as a game can make them and have great animations and poop! I would highly recommend this game for anyone who is looking for a Planet Zoo style Dino game, which features the legend himself... Nigel Marvin!

as of writing this review, the game is in a weird place (September 2024). There are currently two main versions of the game; Base game (aka legacy) and the more popular and new Evrima branch. Both provide very different experiences so i'll review them as though they were separate games. Starting with the former, its incredibly basic mechanics and gameplay make it a more apprachable and easy experience 9and is what i'd reccomend players start with to get to grips with the general concept of the game. Its more focused on immersion, horror, and bigger and scarier dinos; something evrima lacks at the moment. Legacy also performs significiantly better, and is able to be modded which is cool. However, its an old, unsupported game so expect a lot of bugs and a relatively salty playerbase.
On the flip-side, we have Evrima; the shinier and newest branch. While most times you'll be getting relatively poor frames, the game still offers a lot of fun. It has less dinosaurs but each has its own unique gimmick (unlike legacy where pretty much every dino acts the same only with different stats) making each one feel very personalised and special. For example, herrerasaurus is a small theoropod that can climb trees and leap down to squash prey (kinda like a leopard) while the Ceratosaurus is basically just a massive komodo dragon with a bacterial bite. And Diabloceratops being able to spar and charge into other dinos. The list goes on, however, there are certain balance issues and general pains in the backside that can't be ignored. For example, some dinosaurs are just flat out useless such as pteranodon not being able to fly for more than 2 minutes before needing to regain stamina; and it doesnt help that the devs are even considering making it more TERRESTRIAL. And speaking of which..the devs sure are some characters... they seem to have their priorities completely messed up, they seem to actively despise and shut down any form of constructive criticism, are toxic to other players in game (allegedly) and generally act snide and belittling.
With all that said however, the game is fun. Very fun actually in some instances. This game is incredibly immersive, has some great gameplay and mechanics, and the evrima playerbase is actually rather nice. Its a fun game to get into and i am hesitantly positive as to what the devs do with this game... It may take another decade for an update but watevs

Over the many many months of playing i have greatly enjoyed the customisation, animals and environments that come with this game. I absolutely appreciate the effort put into this game and i really cant wait for future updates and DLCs. There are 100+ animals to play around with and every single one is spectacular and unique. Seriously, if i had to name every animal in this game, it would not be able to fit in the comments section! I have to mention the customisation though, there are thousands of building pieces and props that i really love placing around. I hope this review helps YOU to decide whether this game is right game to buy.

I found this game really good fun, there is a lot of customisation, a lot of stuff and most importantly a very good community. They listen to requests and i am very excited for the future of this game. There are however a lot of glitches that can happen, especially n multiplayer mode. However this IS only early access so it will be improved soon.I really think that this game game deserves some love and attention from people.
