Also, if the car is at a discount and you seem to have money to buy it, then you will not be able to buy it, for that a window will open on almost the entire screen about everyone's favorite "donation". By the way, about the donation, the price tags there are big, of course more expensive than the game itself. But even if you had enough patience and you went into the game hoping to see something better, you will most likely get a "grafonian" attack, seeing not a beautiful night city during a light rain, but some kind of ♥♥♥♥. First, your eyes will start to corrode, and then they will fall out completely. Before that happens, and it will happen if you look at it for more than 10 minutes, you will see the terrible texture of houses, gorgeous asphalt, a car with good body detail and a completely bald tire tread. But as soon as you go by car, you will know all the pain that I went through playing this game.

The new game from the creators of Man of the house turned out to be less elaborate, but therefore no less interesting.

Mystwood Manor is a cross between a visual novel, a small hotel management simulator and a bit of a mystical thriller. At the request of the protagonist's father, the protagonist and his family move to an old hotel bought by his father. He realized an old dream - he always wanted to be a hotel manager. But by the will of fate and under rather mysterious circumstances, the father of the protagonist dies in a car accident and the son decides to independently manage the hotel, realizing the dream of the deceased. And he didn't have any special options: the hotel was bought on credit, which means you need to pay off debts, earning on hotel services. But the trouble is: almost all the money went to the hotel, the location is somewhere far from civilization, there are no employees and they will not work for free. Plus, the building has not seen repairs for a very long time. This is what the protagonist and I will have to do, simultaneously hiring and training employees, establishing relationships with them, increasing the popularity of the hotel.
In parallel with the management of the hotel, the main plot develops, where the main character tries to find out what the hell is going on in the vicinity of the hotel and investigates the circumstances of his father's death.

The rendering of characters and environments has noticeably improved compared to the last game of the studio - the clarity of textures has increased, and the character models have grown a decent number of polygons. The environment can not boast of a large number of details, but this is a disease of many games of this genre. Thank you at least the male characters look better than "pinocchio". With models of female characters, everything is traditionally great.

Finally, there is a full-fledged voice acting in the game. Interface sounds, various music in locations and even gasps during interesting processes :). Man of the house couldn't even boast of that. The speech is not voiced.
But with the animation of the project, not everything is smooth - due to more detailed models, sex scenes look more natural, but the animation quality has practically not changed since the first Faerin Games project.

I would like to pay special attention to the gameplay of hotel management. A little more and the game could safely be called a hotel management simulator. The bottom line is that the initial part and the middle are done perfectly - there is always something to do, a lot of little things and nuances that need to be taken into account when managing a hotel. And push the employees to their places, and have time to please the guests, also do not forget that the staff may get tired and you will not send them to the workplace by any gods until they rest, and the harmful guests strive to evaluate your work and slap a "cross". Three "crosses" and an angry customer, cursing the owner, the staff and "the hole where he came and will never come back" will angrily go into the sunset without paying.
It's a shame, but they didn't twist it a bit at the end: the employees and the hotel were pumped, the guests - all 8 people - were studied length and breadth, the staff was trained to please the guests more abruptly than Pavlov's dog and ... that's it. There is nothing else to do, except to grind for a couple of achievements, and to finish increasing relations with employees. It is not clear why it was impossible to add more guests, at least once every 2, to include the appearance of force majeure situations and so on. In general, the "hotel" part came out good, but it could have been better.

In the matter of interaction with girls, everything is done well: the mother of the main character, as well as the friends are the first assistants in the hotel business, and a little later in the intimate, with the development of the plot and business, it becomes possible to hire new employees, performing events with them, the protagonist is rewarded with a "strawberry".

As for the main plot, here it is... normal. Not too banal, but it can't be called unique either. You begin to suspect the main culprit already from the beginning of the game, although he does not shine much and does not behave suspiciously in any way. We have already seen such a development in old films, there are no revelations here, but you can't call it a failure either. On the other hand, the game is not about that, and the fact that the project does not follow the precepts of John Carmack ("The plot in the game is like the plot in a porn movie. It should be, but it is absolutely not important") already means a lot.

𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞:

1. Excellent female character models.
2. Intelligent gameplay part of hotel management.
3. Sounds and music in full.
4. It is always clear what to do next.

2. Unfinished final part of hotel management. Which was very upsetting, "grind" instead of endgame.
3. The main character seemed to come from a porn movie, even in Man of the House there was a main character - a guy with a more realistic appearance.
4. At the culmination of a strange gameplay with documents and guesses, if you make a mistake once, come back the next game day. It took me probably a dozen attempts. Why would you do that?..

After playing Mystwood Manor, you catch yourself thinking that much less work was done on the game than on Man of the house. This by no means means that the game is bad and those players who appreciated MotH will definitely not be disappointed.

The cost of the game, compared with similar games of this genre, is about twice as high. I think this price tag is justified, because Faerin games add gameplay to their games, and this requires much more effort than writing a script and spreading it under pictures and animations, adding branches with choices in some places. It's also nice that the developer gives players a choice: you don't want gameplay, but came only for the plot and the "strawberry" - turn off the corresponding item in the settings and enjoy.

Summing up, I want to say that Mystwood Manor is quite a good game. Yes, there are disadvantages, but they do not outweigh the advantages. The developers had completed the final part with the hotel and the project could safely be called a hotel management simulator.

Also, the game is essentially a free play, and I don't really like its way of monetization, that it blocks you essentially half of the game's capabilities, and you just play the demo version of the game, and if you want all the content, then make out... Subscribe! Not even a single purchase, but a subscription that you have to pay regularly. And this is considering the fact that the game still does not represent a lot of everything.

However, the game also has good features, such as a track editor (which is limited without a subscription), the ability to see the records of players from your region, which I really liked, and also its low entry threshold and simplicity.

But in the garage you will find a large selection of cars, which can even be fine-tuned! However, this does not affect the gameplay in any way, since the physics in the game is terrible.

Remedy has already proved to me in "Quantum Break" that they can create cool, crazy third-person action, and they demonstrate this again in "Control".

As usual with Remedy, in the game "Control" you will find a rather confusing story, and perhaps the most confusing of all stories at the moment. In the role of Jesse Feiden, you find yourself in a secret American agency called the Federal Bureau of Control in search of your brother, who was abducted by this agency several decades ago. However, the agency is empty and infected with some kind of psychic force. You find the dead director of the agency and automatically become the new director, taking his mental service weapon. And now you are faced with the task of using psychic abilities to rid the supernatural agency of the psychic force that has invaded it, while continuing to search for your own brother.

This particular initial situation is, in fact, very funny and fascinating. First of all, it offers the basis for an unusual and cool gameplay. Gradually, you unlock new psychic abilities and weapon modes to, for example, levitate or throw objects through the air. The gameplay is excellent and gives a lot of fun. Gradually, you work your way through various departments of power, learn more about them and about the supernatural-esoteric reality that the authorities are trying to hide from the public, and move the plot forward.

The extravagant nature of the story and the extravagant levels that follow from it are the best entertainment. Of course, if you like mundane literature, you should give preference to Control, but if you like fiction and mystery at least a little, you will get a whole truck of fun here. It is a pity, however, that much remains mysterious and unclear until the very end. But this in itself can be experienced.

The plot is more problematic. Not only does it have several holes, but, unfortunately, it remains extremely flat. This is facilitated by the extremely weak performance of the actors, and a poorly written script. The great catastrophe, the huge danger emanating from an alien force, all the victims to which it leads, as well as the supposedly very emotional search for a sibling are shown incredibly emotionless. The main character remains ultra-pale and seems untouched by all this horror. Unfortunately, this deprives the game of a huge amount of atmosphere, which in fact should make up a large part of the game.

There remains only an unusual gameplay. It's solid, and the controls are mostly very intuitive. However, in the second half of the game it loses its appeal because over time it seems extremely repetitive. As a result, even the unusual abilities of the main character lose their appeal at some point. There could be a lot more of them with a lot of variety. I think of a wild train chase with a movie camera at the ready. The game could have used more of these special moments. (And whoever is thinking now: what the hell did he mean by that? Welcome to the crazy world of Control...).

On the other hand, what's great is the graphics and sound. Especially real fragments of films that are interspersed every now and then, very cool and appropriate.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭:

In general, this is a strong and fascinating third-person action game, with an interesting story and creative mechanics, which, however, has serious drawbacks in terms of plot and acting and becomes very repetitive towards the end. Therefore, this is not a masterpiece, but still a recommended game, especially for fans of strange mysterious stories.
