Look I mean it's a great game but I don't recommend it because it's swarming with smurfs, trolls and hackers who will ruin your experience. Valve doesn't care so they won't fix this but the gameplay has still been addictive and successfully made me waste 1100+ hours of my life on it in the past 6.5 months. Which is another reason I don't recommend it; unless you have the self discipline of a monk, this game will drag your life down to hell. Of course, all that aside, I absolutely love the game itself. The voice lines bring the characters to life, friends make it 10x more fun (duh) and shooting the living crap out of a bunch of virtual terrorists/police agents is good stress release (but can quickly turn into a source of stress if you get frustrated, and the game can give you 1000 reasons to be frustrated). Overall, great game, but unfortunately I won't recommend it, nor do I hope to continue playing regularly in the long term as I've been doing for 6 months,
