Но среди них был ещё один игрок, которого признали все пять гениев, так называемый «призрачный, шестой игрок». Однако после выпуска все разошлись по различным старшим школам. Тэцуя Куроко, тот самый «невидимка», поступает в старшую школу Сэйрин, чья баскетбольная команда существует всего лишь два года. На церемонии поступления Куроко решает вступить в неё, как и талантливый Тайга Кагами, ранее игравший в команде США и снисходительно относящийся к японскому баскетболу ;

— Поколение Чудес (キセキの世代, Kiseki no Sedai, Generation of Miracles) — это звездная команда Средней Школы Тейко. Команда из 5 (а точнее 6) игроков, каждый из которых владеет своим собственным незаурядным и исключительным талантом. Команда выиграла три года подряд Национальные. По окончанию Средней Школы знаменитые игроки Поколения Чудес разошлись по пяти разным Школам.

The Generation of Miracles (キセキの世代 Kiseki no Sedai) is a group of five exceptionally talented players that played together on the Teikō Junior High basketball team. They won the junior high school Nationals for three consecutive years before graduating and scattering across different high schools with the intentions of rivaling each other. While the Generation of Miracles is widely accepted as a group of five, there exists an additional phantom sixth man acknowledged by each of the prodigies.

The Generation of Miracles are easily recognized as the best players in the league, with their talents even leading others to refer to them as "monsters". Players such as Tatsuya Himuro, Shōgo Haizaki, Shūzō Nijimura, and the Uncrowned Kings have been compared to them in terms of strength, but only players like Taiga Kagami and Team Jabberwock have been truly regarded as equally comparable.
