Let me start off by saying this is a great game. After all, I've racked up a few thousand hours by now (though a lot of it is sitting AFK). Yet, I'm having a hard time saying I can recommend this game. That is because I want to, but feel the need to address certain issues that other reviews often don't mention.

This game may not fit you, but if it does, I'm sure you'll have a blast. But, it becomes increasingly harder to enjoy the game. The problem is the updates. Not only do they take a while, they are often lackluster, bringing meaningless, bad/boring, or downright detrimental changes.

When you start playing this won't be a problem at all, but after a while it becomes really bothersome how half of the game's features are either meaningless or can be abused, resulting in unenjoyable gameplay that is necessary for a team's success.

Should you try this game? Yes, totally! It does a lot of things right, too. But it feels like the developers no longer have the resources and the foundation needed to keep up with community expectations.

UPDATE (nearly 3 years later):

All these issues still apply. New dev team took over, they have the resources, but they are being spent on appealing to new kind of playerbase, when the existing playerbase is already way too broad. Barely any issues that were there 3 years ago have been fixed, all while a number of new ones have been introduced.

The game is still great, but it could be so, so much better.
