Very addictive. The game is symmetrical, meaning that any advantage given to one team is given to the other as well. This is why the game doesn't need to be patched and balanced as often as most other games, but gameplay still evolves despite it being out for 7 years due to new "exploits" being found within the game's engine. Everyone starts off at the same level, due to how unique the game is. This, combined with an incredibly high skill ceiling yet relative simplicity makes Rocket League to ultimate e-sport and competitive game.

The first hundred hours are probably the worst, since you won't have any control over the car. The game's default settings are also surprisingly stupid, meaning you have to change most of them. You'll need to browse several YouTube videos before you have tuned the game to your liking and in the range of what's competitively viable. From here, however, the game just gets better and better.
