Years of old now gone,
Lost in time's swift stream,
The past, it lingers on,
Adding sorrow's gleam.

What use does hatred find?
But to prolong the pain,
Living thus, resigned,
Surely, we'll meet again.

Waves crash upon the shore,
Wind's eternal sway,
Human bonds endure,
Throughout life's array.

Old friends may come and go,
Departing paths they trace,
But never shall we forgot,
Our true selves in this space.
