When I discovered this game in the Return of the Obra Dinn subreddit, I didn't expect much from it. Now that I fully played it, I can say that it's really good, with unique visuals, an authentic OST, and actually rewarding puzzles, especially in the last case IMO.

If you loved Return of the Obra Dinn, you'll for sure like The Case of the Golden Idol.

With its amazing art and excellent soundtrack, this game is a high-quality experience that clearly had a lot of heart poured into it. The controls are intuitive even on a laptop keyboard, to some folks' surprise. The chapters are engaging, and although they can be very challenging at times, requiring quite a few retries, they never felt unfair or broken.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed Celeste, and getting it for just two bucks feels like a steal given the level of gameplay and emotional immersion it offers to players.
