AMAZING GAME. But do not play if you haven't played every other game first or you will be 100% lost LOL

Gameplay wise this is the greatest yakuza game ever made, the content is the most in the entire series so far, the combat has been perfected from the last game to the point I’m not sure if I could go back to it after playing this, the graphics and soundtrack are incredible, and the story is fantastic. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I overall liked the last games story a bit more as it was more focused without the dual storyline, but that doesn’t discredit this one in anyway. The English voice acting, despite the big stink it made online, is also fantastic (and the Japanese dub is amazing as always for you sub players)

The biggest negative I can give it is the DLC monetization, but that’s issues outside the game itself so doesn’t affect my opinion if it very much. Absolute must play for any fan of the series, and for any fan of turn based rpgs who played at least Like A Dragon already.

Don't let the lower price or shorter story fool you, when you factor in side content this game has just as much content as any other yakuza game, and even though the story is a lot shorter (only 5 chapters) each chapter is packed with great cutscenes, cool moments, awesome fights and sequences, and memorable characters. Overall this has become one of my favorite Yakuza/Like a Dragon games and you'd be crazy not to pick this one up.

Despite not having finished the game yet, it's already my favorite yakuza game and it's not even main series. Characters are incredible, graphics are great, story is fantastic, combat is amazing, side content is really great, and you don't really have to play any other Yakuza games to enjoy it. An absolute must play, and it's incredible because from what I've heard Lost Judgment is even better

This game has a lot of issues, the combat and optimization is jank but it can be forgiven for their first time on a new engine, the story is great and the new graphics look incredible. The side content is lacking compared to some of the more modern games but its definitely better than 3 or 4. Onomichi looks beautiful but there's absolutely nothing to do there except a boring baseball minigame that i didnt even unlock until i beat the game, while kamurocho is still bustling with things to do they also cut out a large chunk of it due to time constraints. Combat lacking a lot of features also brings it down a lot, but it's definitely not a bad game. I'd put it right next to Yakuza 3 in terms of ranking all the Yakuza games, which is to say fairly low but it's still worth playing if you've already played all the other games.

Yakuza 5 is a huge step up from 3 and 4, the engine and combat are closer to 0 so right a way it feels a lot more natural. The story while being a little stuffed and overly complex is way better than 4's and feels a lot more climactic than 3 and 4, those felt like filler episodes compared to this.

Some of the cities are not very fun to explore, but the side content is way better than it is in 3 or 4 and each character having their own mini campaign dedicated to a minigame they have makes it a lot more fun

Saejima's part sucks and haruka's part is real slow at first but kiryu and shinada's part as well as the finale are great enough to not bring it down that much, definitely one of the best Yakuza games

Yakuza 4 is a massive improvement on 3 in every way except story, The new playable characters are all a lot of fun, and interesting (barring tanimura) and the combat is way better. The story however is the least memorable so far, i barely remember any of the non-playable characters, especially the villains or what their motivations are. Still a really good game and would definitely recommend, but its not one of the best Yakuza games out there

definitely my weakest experience with a yakuza game, the combat takes a while to get good and the side content is pretty trash overall, however the story and characters are incredible and the final third of the game really makes up for it, still a good game, just not my favorite.

Yakuza Kiwami is a weird game, it's basically Yakuza 0 with the story of Yakuza 1. Combat is basically the same as 0 but with a lot of small changes to make it a lot more fleshed out and fun than it was in 0. Story is weaker than 0 but that's because its the exact same story as in 0, however with the massive impact it has on all future games i can't help but enjoy it's story more. Side content is pretty much the same as 0 but with less to do.

If you can only pick one game to buy, pick 0, but if you plan on getting them all anyway it's definitely a recommend

Yakuza 0 is a little overrated as the best Yakuza game but that doesn't stop it from being a fantastic game, Story is great even if its completely isolated from the rest of the series and has basically nothing to do with it, the combat has its issues but its a lot of fun, side content is great as well. Basically my only issue with the game is that other games in the series did every one of these things just a tiny bit better, and that's hardly fair to the game itself. Definitely recommend.
