Amazing ecosystem game that is ruined by its subsequent DLC, Downpour. Play survivor through, and you've already gotten the best the game has to offer. Which is of course, still pretty damn good.

Base game Rainworld is incredible. Downpour takes that Rainworld and ruins it. Gourmand is the only actual cool slugcat, the rest are either overpowered or underpowered, not balanced like Gourmand or Survivor is. It takes the once amazing ecosystem game and turns it into "Cool different slugcat game." Buy rainworld if you like the ecosystem, but don't count on Downpour to keep that level of excellence Rainworld had
