This game, for being a student game, is in a league far higher than advertised! It's got very good graphics, gameplay reminds me of classic PS2 games of the same genre where storytelling, art, and the passion to make something beautiful, is preferred over money. I would LOVE to spend $50 on a sequel to this if it were in the same style and much more content. To the developer, i wish you the best of luck in your career (as if you need luck with games like this) and i hope to see many more games from you! God bless ya!

I love the concept of this game. There is a lot of things i wanna say about it but for those of you who don't wanna sit reading through paragraphs of text, Here's the short and sweet version. This game feels like an early access version of what would be the product of "No Man's Sky", "Space Engineers", and "ARK Survival Evolved". combined into one game.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way lets talk details. Mostly everyone wants to get the bad news done first so lets start with that.

Graphics:
While this game is beautiful, and fluids are top notch, it does lack some quality in it's texturing that make it fall short of that AAA game quality. While yes there is good detail to the terrain and textures on the structures, it's lacking some resolution up close. you can see pixelated lines and texturing on some of the structure panels and in the terrain this is most pronounced. (This IS open world though so you're gunna have that for the most part anyways) What really is lacking at the moment is animations. Character animations are a bit on the jank side. They aren't natural and they are very bare bones. Cockpits are not animated at all and camera ports for turrets and the player drone are very bare bones as well with a useless overlay that takes up a large amount of the screen.

Controls:
For mouse and keyboard the defaults are a bit jank but you have full ability to change keybinds to fit what feels right with you, however if you want to use a controller, your stuck with what ya got. (Unless there is a way to change them in witch case I've been blind for about 2 weeks)

Space to planet transition:
In short, there is no transition. You can fly from the surface to space but once ya pass a certain altitude, the blue atmosphere immediately gets replaced with a black starry sky.

Sound design:
The music is great quality and isn't too overwhelming but lets face it, everything else is bare bones basic. Engine sounds, gunshots, footsteps, eating food, getting hurt, etc. is all extremely basic. There is no transition and most of the sounds seem to get cut off at the end. it really needs some work here.

For the good news, the game has a LOT to offer!

World generation:
The concept for a planetary world generation is great! The planets are relatively small but there are thousands of them! all of them can be explored fully and you can fly in a straight line and end up back where you started.

Building:
Not much to say here! Its great! Intuitive GUIs and good tutorials make for a system that's easy to grasp. Much easier than Space Engineers i have to say, however there are slightly less functional blocks than Space engineers. (No rotors to spin yourself around at mach 10 sadly)

PVE:
IT EXISTS! It's not horribly difficult but it give players who dont like PVP some fun things to do including missions and story driven quests. (mods do well here too).

Multiplayer:
It just works! Servers can be laggy but the one i play on is quite good. and when it does lag, instead of straight booting you to the main menu or disconnecting you to solo play or rubber-banding (mostly), it pops up a little text box for everyone that tells you that you are no longer sending data to the server and gives you a button to quit to the menu if you wish, however if you wait all of like 2 seconds (again mostly) that popup goes away and you can continue playing normally as the server has had time to sync up.

Workshop and mods:
Not much in the way of mods but the game DOES have workshop functionality. There are THOUSANDS of player submitted bases, hovercraft, small ships, capital vessels, and POIs (Point of intrest) of each of the previously mentioned items! all of these can be downloaded and spawned in for free in creative OR in survival if you have the required resources! All of these can be edited normally to fit your needs. Then there are survival scenarios. Custom missions created by players who take the story away from the default tutorial-esque quests the base game gives ya.

My opinion is it's a game that is extremely fun in it's current state but still needs a lot of work to feel like a finished product. I'd recommend Empyrion - Galactic Survival to anyone looking for a fun, space/sandbox game!

In short, Great concept, ((STUPID)) expensive on top of also Micro-transactions GALORE!!!

In detail: The concept of this game is great! The map size (Friggin huge), multiple motorsports, and the amount of multiplayer potential is amazing! There is however a pretty BIG issue with the current way the game is going. Its following the same downward spiral a lot of other games are doing. "premium currency" and the so-called "battlepass" (Litterally worded as "motorpass" in this game.)

Now im not bashing on the battlepass idea entirely. if this game was free-to-play with DLC's i could understand...however this game costs a gross amount of money and it still feels like a "free-to-play" game. they have these "Crew Credits" (CC) that USED to be obtained via contracts. however now they are only obtained through this "battlepass" in order to be able to get EVERYTHING from the motorpass, it will cost ya 80k CC. You get 20k for free from the pass and an additional 20k if ya bought the premium motorpass. Furthermore most of the content of the game is locked behind this paywall. I'm sorry but if i pay $90 for a game, i wanna be able to play ALL of it. (Forza Horizon series did it right in my opinion.) Lots of cars to drive? yup but if ya want them all...gotta get through the paywall. Hey want a cool police lightbar? We got ya covered! Just spend 80k CC and grind your hind end off every day and maybe get almost to the END of the "motorpass" and you can have it right before ya get burnt out on the game!

Players are leaving the game because of this stuff and i feel like the devs are thinking "Game is dying? welp time to milk every last dime out of the remaining players till it dies! Then we will work on ANOTHER game and when it dies, we will do it AGAIN!" This isn't a game made truely for players, it a game made just for profit.

PS. Just bought some crew credits for my sis on her account with my card, Money is gone, Crew Credits not there. They are more than money monsters, they are scammers! Also, funny how i cant find a phone number for the ubisoft support. Guess ill have to have a conversation with a robot

Legit i have nothing bad to say about this game. The sound, the feel of the crafts on track, the music, all of it gives me the feeling of insane speed! And its not just the racing! the environments are beautiful, the lighting gives each location a different feel along with the changes in physics! For example on an earth track, you hit a jump and gravity pulls ya back down, on the moon the gravity is much less so you fly farther! and then there's the deep space circuits, 0-G Flight when ya leave the track! And its ALL constant physics, you control where the craft goes! (one track on Neptune has a curved jump section where you legit have to make a turn at over 600 MPH in 0-G open space!) the only thing the game controls is the orientation of the craft relative to the track. The ONLY issue is not enough people are playing it! Highly recommended!

*EDIT* Kind of annoying though how the meta for the game is wall bouncing. The fastest times are always runs where people bounce off the outside wall with the rear corner of the craft. I wish the devs would make the walls slow ya down way more and give the crafts more overall grip.
