The artstyle and the music is pretty good, and i enjoy the theming, but it is a fairly pathetic game in terms of combat, which is more than half the game.
The enemies are simultaneously simple and a little too easy to fight, yet whenever you are hit it is frustrating. the attacks are poorly choreographed and the hitboxes on both enemy and player attacks are poorly communicated. The artstyle, while beautiful, often fails to properly signal the difference between decoration, obstacles and enemies within runs. In general the game just has poor visibility and readability, and the constant dark filter in some stages doesn't help. movement feels ok but it is a slog backtracking through half the stage you have already completed to get to another room. often the best strategy to beat bosses is to run up to them and spam click while tanking the boss' own attacks. the tarot cards (main semi-permanent upgrades within runs) vary extremely between power, and the lack of choice within runs on the cards you can get means i was sometimes considering not unlocking new ones so as not to have a higher chance of drawing bad cards.
I also encountered several bugs, some that were fairly game breaking. I have a fairly good gaming setup and the game often has lag spikes mid combat when nothing else is particularly running in the background. at least on two different occasions i have been softlocked, and once the game just crashed after beating the final boss, without allowing me to save.
I don't know if that was purposeful, but overall it left a bad taste in my mouth. it is a mediocre action game with a fairly good base building element incorporated, but in a lot of ways it is unpolished and not really worth my limited time alive on planet earth. (and possibly more importantly, my limited wallet.) I can see other people enjoying this game, but I can't honestly recommend it - at least in its current state.
TLDR: Like, it's not bad, and i did end up playing until i beat the boss, but unlike other games of similar genres i have no desire to replay at all, and i find it hard to believe I will remember the game or its story long into the future. It's definitely a pretty game in a lot of ways, but it is mechanically and thematically boring and mediocre.

short and fun action platformer that is definitely worth your time if you enjoy zooming around. i had no clue where i was most of the time though.

really good game. sometimes infuriating when failing white checks as can lead to stuck situations but played pretty comprehensively but still have much to find. very recommend if you are interested in story games and characters. interesting worldbuilding that forces you to learn terms and such. feels dense and overwhelming at first but i like how that is overlaid on the character as well. totally worth any amount of money that you could possibly spend on the game

Enjoyed the game relatively, pretty consistently emotional but no particular point hugely stood out. Still worth playing though. I really enjoyed some parts of the main plotline and all the epilogue stuff but the space pirate thing felt confusing and distinctly alien from the well-delivered depressing mundane humanity of the rest of the story. Honestly I still don't really get what all that brought to the table story wise. Other than that it was definitely an interesting experience and I would well recommend it. I can definitely see it resonating with others better than it did me. The art was very cool.

great puzzle game. Finished it in one sitting and enjoyed a lot.

Loved it. If the gameplay itself weren't so tedious I would replay immediately to better understand what is going on but for now I will settle with just thinking about it.
