Palia is quite possibly the best game I've played. Beautiful graphics, gorgeous world, immersive characters and story line. This game has something for everyone, with questing, farming, romance, foraging, hunting, fishing, cooking, you name it! And it's free! Sure, there's a premium shop, but those are purely aesthetic options. This is NOT a pay-to-play game <3 I will recommend this game until I die. It's perfect for your kid, you, and your great-great grandpa, too.

Now I will say that this game IS still in beta, and I've seen glitches, lag, etc, but they're constantly improving and fixing with regular patches and updates during the development process.

Also, I know as of writing this it's saying I've only played for 5 hours, but I've put in countless hours on the game before it came to steam, and on my switch (where it's fully playable without a Nintendo online sub).

Let me start out by saying that I've been playing this game on Xbox since the covid-19 lock-downs, 13 hours is just since I switched to PC. If you enjoy serene landscapes, walks through the woods, and crawling on your belly as quietly as possible and hoping the wind doesn't shift, this is the game for you. Everything about this game is detailed and thought out, and it makes for a great time...well, if you don't mind sitting in your tree stand for literal hours...But hey, that just makes it more realistic! Lmao. There's also a trophy system, and you can add your kills to your hunting lodge. The points are based on the animal itself (coat color, size, etc), as well as how cleanly you killed it (proper gun, ammo, aim).

One thing I really love about this game, and this company, is how the DLC maps work. If you want to hunt a map you don't have, you can join someone else's co-op game as long as they own the map! I prefer finding a friend who owns the map if you can, because I've joined only to have the random map-owner follow me around on a four wheeler and chase away game.
