Big Shaq’s Man’s Not Hot explores the concept of ‘simpery’ in today’s society. ‘Perspiration tings, (sprayed at) lynx effect’ refers to the notion that it is scientifically impossible for man to be hot. If Shaq claims that man cannot scientifically be hot (through perspiration), why would man ‘take off your jacket’ for a woman? Big Shaq challenges today’s normalisation of ‘simpery’ as men are willing to blindly sacrifice their own comforts for the comforts of a woman. Yet I believe that Shaq is confused with the ideas of being a gentleman and a simp. A gentleman stands his ground against a woman to protect his values, whereas a simp blindly agrees with all the woman has to say regardless of if it clashes with his own values. Therefore, he takes on a highly unattractive submissive role in the relationship becoming a simp.
