This was an enjoyable first game to play through, even for its self-described "small, imperfect, bizarre" nature. It plays with interesting storytelling in this format and I enjoyed the puzzles it contained. Nice work!

This game offers some true challenge, yet rewards skill and investment in a way I don't see very often. I loved the whole gameplay loop: the tight controls, the customization and variety in classes & upgrades, and training against the bosses. Also, this game offers so much content to play — I stopped before engaging in the post-credits portion of the game, but one can reap so much enjoyment from this one game purchase.

A fun minigame with surprising depth and skill-ceiling height given the low price and Asteroid-like aesthetics. This one's worth trying!

A fun, casual game to pass the time with; it can be a little repetitive when trying to grind for all the achievements, but it's still a fun and worthwhile challenge, especially for the pennies it costs.

While some of the puzzles were oblique in a not-so-fun way (even within the confines of a self-described annoying game), the game earns the thumbs-up for the clever puzzles and the great humor, especially given my familiarity with The Witness.

While I never got too serious about the game, it's a very fun Smash clone that has its own identity and feels like it rewards skill.

It's a very fun casual fighting game to share with some friends! You can likely already tell the gameplay has limited depth to it, but it doesn't need to with the goofy fun it provides.

I have a long way to go in the story of this game, but so far I consider the game imperfect but still fun — a 7/10 for me. Design-wise, this is not a tight game — the story can feel tangential and sometimes falls flat, weapons and enemies can vary between balanced and very one-sided, and the procedural generation that is behind most of the game's levels can sometimes be a little too obvious.

Yet I still greatly enjoyed the ambition and charm of the game! There is an impressive range of weapons that often provides tools that feel OP (in a fun way), the core resource-gathering worked well for me, planets provide a wide range of creatures and conditions to learn, and the manually designed locations, characters and scenarios are a very cool break from the procedurally generated sandbox game.

My experience was imperfect but enjoyable, and for its cost, the amount of entertainment Starbound provides is a good deal.

This game deserves all of its praise! It nails the deckbuilding genre with roguelike elements, and the different characters & difficulty levels provide a surprising depth of challenge and mechanics. I also love the UI and how smooth card-playing feels. Highly recommend!
