Insane that we got this before the Bloodborne pc port, also it's Bloodborne but 60 fps. Take notes Sony

They have done a incredible job recreating SH2, Don't get the game if your pc can't handle the game and run it at a solid 60fps because it's a hardware demanding game, it's audio/visually stunning graphics really makes you feel like you are in the town of Silent Hill, because not only did Bloober Team bring out the big-guns when it came to paying attention to most of the iconic moments, exploration of the town is expanded in the best way possible, There were several instances where I thought I had the combat down, with “Welp, I’ve got XXX bullets and xx healing now, what could go wrong?” Only for later boss encounters to eat three quarters of those resources. And every boss has been turned into a glorious horrifying recreation that tests your mettle and ammo supply in a way that feels truly survival horror.

It absolutely builds upon the original game in meaningful ways without replacing the original, This is definitely the best silent hill game in a long time, probably the best since Team Silent. The original is definitely sending more chills down my spine as I play through the game but the remake had areas like the hospital and prison were I think they really showed us how well made this remake is. Again, The game looks great and the voice actors have done a amazing job when it comes to the delivery of there lines, especially Luke Roberts (James).

James's voice and acting comes off unquestionably as somebody who is severely depressed. Not sad; depressed: numb to emotions. His limited reactions to the monsters and horrific things makes sense (maybe even more so than the original imo) because he's just not emotionally capable of fully processing it. Even when he says lines meant to be hopeful there's an underlying feeling of disbelief, like he doesn't want to risk being hopeful in the fear he'll be burned again. As somebody with severe depression it's uncanny how much I can understand James' emotional state from just Luke's performance, Luke nailed it!.

PLAY WITH CONTROLLER!, I can't stress this enough!, The way the vibration from the controller has been utilized made my skin crawl. Yamaoka’s legendary audio has been preserved and simultaneously bolstered by so many new, exciting ear-gasms that I hope you won’t spoil for yourself before jumping into this blind. Even the subtle changes like the way Mannequins don’t instantly trigger your radio leads to so many great sweat-inducing moments throughout your playthrough. The game is amazing and I would recommend anyone to play it as it's first introduction to the Silent Hill franchise, Immersion has reached an all-time high, and I genuinely hope that Bloober Team is going to be behind any future Silent Hill releases, as in my opinion they just get it.

I could go on and on about a bunch of stuff to compare the two games but I will just end this by saying that the remake lives up to the legacy of the original while providing new experiences that enhance yet respect the narrative and themes that make SH2 2001 one of the best horror games ever made.
