I was fortunate to have first experienced this game post Patch 2.0. I can't attest to its bug-ridden past, nor can I say how much it's improved, but I can describe it through fresh eyes.

It's incredible.

The storyline is nothing short of excellent. I don't think I've ever exhausted dialogue options out of pure interest before. Everything, from the writing to the delivery, screams triple-A.

The world itself, though sprawling and dense, has a lived-in feel to it. It does not suffer from the issue of vacancy and hollowness that seems to pervade game worlds of this scale. Night City feels like the bustling tech metropolis that it's marketed to be, and it never has to convey this claim explicitly; it walks the talk.

The gameplay itself is super fun. It plays out much like a conventional RPG in that you can build your character to excel at a certain playstyle. But even then, I often find myself blurring the line between being a stealthy cyber ninja and a gung-ho, guns-a-blazing lead head. There's a lack of rigidity here if you so desire it, and I love it.

In short, I never had to consciously find reasons to like this game. I feel like a lot of titles place the burden on the player to seek out the positives. It's up to you to flesh things out and find intricacy. With Cyberpunk, it sort of just fell into my lap.

Watched a druid face-plant into grease and become a bearskin rug. 10/10 game.
