This is gonna be my most serious review for an adult game. Perhaps my most serious review yet.

Summer Clover is the most unserious, but enjoyable VN I have had the pleasure of playing. The art is fantastic, the music is notable and pleasant, and the story is very charming and sweet (the VA work is wonderful too). The gameplay loop to continue the story for each character is a bit repetitive at times (especially when a lot of the topic dialogue to gain affection with the girls ranges around 2-3 different reusable lore bits for them), but it's fun to experiment and discover what the girls like and dislike both in speaking points and dishes. It's fun getting to know them!

Something that stood out to me was that the dialogue was very silly at times, which is not a turn-off, but in fact, drew me into the game, as some of the wording that the translators use was very... interesting. To put it simply, they have a good sense of humour . This is most evident with Shizuko and a few select scenes involving events with the MC, both common events and dirty events. It might be a turn-off for some people when the MC describes their fun parts like "meat rod" or calls the girls' bits their "puss puss" but it was funny to me and didn't turn me away. If you don't like it, he doesn't talk when you do the same deed with the girls post-initial engagement.

Now for the dirty...
the scenes are varied and have beautiful art attached to them. Very customizable when you return to them after the initial engagement, so you can select aspects that you wanna keep or change during your special time. The girls also talk during them, which is a BIIIG plus. The translators know what's good and the VAs performed magnificently.

TLDR: Summer Clover feels like it was made with love and enjoyment. If you're here for an eroge that'll cause you to laugh, feel fuzzy, and then explode, you're in for a treat. If you're just here to paint your computer white, then you're gonna have to do a bit of grinding (and not the one to get your socks off).
