Note: My review is coming entirely from a standpoint of someone who has never played Overwatch 1 or ever had any affiliation with Blizzard in any way. I am entirely unbiased and only reviewing this game as I've known it for the few days I've known and played it.

Steam Deck performance review: Solid, 9/10. I play docked and the game looks decent, slightly blurry but runs a locked 60 FPS. Had some control issues but fixed it with some googling. If you don't have a dock or any way to play with keyboard and mouse, I wouldn't bother trying on Steam Deck. Those PC players will destroy you

Blizzard is very greedy. That's evident from the moment you start up the game. BUT, if you're just looking for a decent free experience, it's a good game
Every character (as far as I know) can be unlocked for free. The only difference being a longer grind. The battle pass system is garbage but at least the free one gives some okay items without having to pay much attention to it
Player-wise, the community is pretty garbage. Good bit of people are tryhards and/or toxic. Look past all this and you may enjoy it. Balancing is definitely annoying (Moira), but arguably fair in most cases. They throw a lot of garbage on your screen almost immediately, it's like they want beginners to leave the game. It's not terribly hard to learn, though

Long story short: Don't buy anything. I'm a big TF2 fan and I found the game to be right up my alley. Unlocking characters is fun, playing them is fun. What else would you want from a free experience?
