This is one of the only games I have ever bought before waiting for a sizable sale. Am I disappointed? No. Does it need work? Yes.
I am a huge fan of Town of Salem 1. There was no doubt that I'd be at least slightly disappointed with Town of Salem 2.

If you enjoy social deduction games, I highly support buying it as is. Note that it's very confusing for beginners who have never played the first game, and there are some unnecessarily confusing role descriptions and UIs. You'll get a hang of it, but expect some frustration.
$10 is a very fair price for the game, I doubt it'd go much lower. I've seen a few people complain about the price, but I find the complaints unjustified. I've barely scraped the amount of roles and gamemodes this game has and I thoroughly support how much I spent for it. ($9)

That being said, I have a few complaints.

1. The UI is as hard to understand as piloting an aircraft.
Yes, could be worse, but man is it annoying. The button to leave a game/lobby is a small little icon hidden in the settings menu. Let alone the fact that the role cards don't fully explain roles. Important information is randomly left out, such as how many souls a Soul Collector has. Random parts of the UI also just randomly give out. May be my own mistake, but I often have the graveyard and role list disappear mid-game. Way too easy to disable things that you need to be able to play.

2. Balancing is off, but still commendable.
Best example of this is Wildling, who can see who every town member visits. I wouldn't say any role in the game is 100% broken, but you have to admit that Coroner doesn't hold a match to Baker or Wildling. Speaking of that, most TI are garbage. Coroner? Mostly useless. Spy? Rarely has use.

The amount of complaints I have are far fewer than the amount of things I appreciate. In the end, I find both Town of Salem 1 & 2 to be amazing games, and I'd never recommend one over the other. They both have their charms and uses.

Town of Salem 2 feels like a refurbished Town of Salem 1 in the best way possible. It's the same old Salem you love, but with tons of new roles and mechanics. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Thank you, BlankMediaGames!
