First I need to preface this review by explaining that I believe the core of the action in the John Wick movies is the skill and luck it takes to pull off what John does. In that regard, this game is exactly what I believe a John Wick game should be like.

Sadly, a lot of the reviews don't seem to agree that strategy should be at the core of what makes a John into a Wick.

I personally enjoyed this game a lot for the aforementioned reasons but still I can see that it's not a perfect game, or even at the fullest of it's potential. It's beautifully stylized but the animations are ... unpolished to say the least, like other parts of the game (the game contains bugs, thankfully not game breaking ones). As contrast, the voice acting is amazing.

Now that that's out of the way, the core gameplay loop which entails positioning and time management, as well as a bit of dice rolling, it is in fact fun unlike others tend to say. It isn't hard to learn and it's satisfying.

The trailer provided explains greatly what one should expect from this game, which is why I need not say more.

Except that you should buy it at a discount because it is overpriced.

This game is so much fun . The story may be mediocre but the gun/sword-play compensates for it. I finished the game solo but I totally reccomend that you play co-op, which is something I'm looking forward to.

The atmosphere, the lighting, minimal HUD, actual map (as in its an actual item), lack of convient fast travel and crosshairs and the danger of your guns wearing out make for an amazing experience experience. There is a lot of driving cars and boats and generally traversing around the jungels and deserts so I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for non-stop action. However, if you like a good story, destruction (especially those fires far cry is famous for), good gun mechanics and challenging firefights (harder difficulties reccomended) then you will love this game. The character models and the voice acting have not aged that well but I am willing to ignore that since it was realeased in 2008 ... 11 YEARS AGO!!!
