Kinda fun, in terms of difficulty its not hard but you will inevitabaly face total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Enemy turn is about to end? Oh! 4 plague marines just appeared behind a door and they all get to take a turn right now too. You closed a warp rift? oops, it bugged and spawned a full squad of poxwalkers and a vox caster on your assassin. Destroy bloom? good luck, it has 60 health, 6 plague marines, and 8 more on the way. You have 3 AP and 4 characters, 12 chances to do damage compared to their 9 plague marines and the plague mortar they have fighting with them. You also have no cover and 2 envrionmental hazards which will maybe break the armor of one plague marine if youre lucky. That ♥♥♥♥ is just not fun at all, but the rest of the game so far is pretty good. Idk what to call this genre but its like xcom so i know its supposed to be hard, but like it went from enjoyabel to straight cancer in one mission. You can restart but not change your loadout so if you ♥♥♥♥ up and bring a gun that has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ammo pool and get a curse like -1 ammo permanently you will just have a useless purgator. Its a lot of luck so its not impossible to just keep retrying until you get lucky with curses and enemy spawns but thats not really fun either. probably like a 7/10, 8/10 if you really like whatever kind of game this is. Also crashes a LOT.

It's a great game, and it's worth 40$... However, I would recommend waiting a few weeks before buying it, there's a lot of bugs/server issues being fixed that make it unplayable from time to time. As far as Helldivers 1 fans, I'd say its not really the same game. Instead of top down, its a 3rd person co op shooter. The stratgems, samples, weapons, etc. Everything is different in how you unlock it, and theres very few weapons and stratgems in comparison. Additionally, since theres only one free "warbond" (essentiallly a battlepass but with no timer) There's painfully little variety in gameplay. You can't mod your guns, or upgrade them,. etc. Same with statagems and armor. Nothing can be upgraded except for your ship which gives minor buffs but take forever to unlock, like the buildings in Darkest Dungeon. Overall, It's a lot of fun if you have at least 3 people. Difficulty and lives scale in reverse, where you get way more lives the more people you have (5 per), so solo/duo is just infinitely harder. I'd say at least get a trio, or be willing to join random missions. They can be fun, the only problem is random netwrok connection fails, failures to join lobbies, etc. The game is good as it is, but it definitely needs a lot more content and bugfixes to end up on the same level as Helldivers 1 is for me. Also, they seriously need to add vehicles because there's no tanks, motorcycle, or walkers in this game. That was imo one of the most fun things about HD1, however impractical they were. As it is, the game is for sure a 7/10. IN a few months, maybe even next year, as long as they add new content, hopefully add research for weapons and stratagems, add vehicles, etc. this game could easily be a 10/10 co op shooter.

I remember playing these game on kongregate as a little kid. I'd had it on my wishlist for a while and picked it up on sale, but I should've bought it a long time ago for full price. It's such a good game, and keeps the charm of the old games alive well. This franchise will always have a special place in my heart because these games were some of the first I ever played on a computer. I highly recommend it even if you haven't played the other EBF games or are new to this genre. There's plenty of content and things to do besides just the main story, achievements, etc etc. It has wonderful art, music, and most importantly gameplay. 10/10 with nostalgia but probably still an 8/10 to the uninitiated.

Pretty good game but banging the doctor doesn't let you stay at the hospital for free

Its a good game, on console. This version makes you download origin, and play it through there. Considering its a 2016 game the 2022 release date is probably deceiving to some people, but as much as I loved this game on PS4 back in the day I cant recommend it to anyone on computer. The game doesn't work for me even after I updated my driver, which it asked me to do, plus it's apparently got no anti cheat so there'll just be hackers in ur games. Between that and the fact that it won't be updated anymore, I say only play it on console if u want a bit of nostalgia (despite it still being a pretty recent game) but not worth on PC.

This game is very enjoyable, you can build bases and have an infinite world, or you can play the story mode and try to beat a bunch of crazy bosses in a short amount of time before the world ends. You can earn most of the cosmetics by playing the game, and the store ones are pretty cheap (and good looking.) Overall, it's a great price for a fun game, I played alone on ps4 but it's better with friends. The only problem is that it doesn't have crossplay so keep that in mind. Overall tho, 9/10 game.

nah this new update is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. everyone got set to level 1 and they added a colossal grindwall to unlocking items, added having to "upgrade" your items, its just the worst update ever. Never playing this game again. It was only good in the og days, when everything was ugly and the game was eactually fun. Its trying to be hardcore or something and it just isnt. It shouldhave leaned into the fun aspect, instead they ust made it grindy and obnoxious.

While the game is in early access, it feels amazing. There's very few bugs, a good amount of variety and best of all: There's no microtransactions. No add on exclusive characters, maps, weapons, skins, etc. Its all free, and for a very good price (12 bucks is 100% worth it, at release it might be 15 or 20 but honestly, it should be 30) Its a very good roguelike, and the progression feels good, if a little slow. I have only played solo, but i imagine multiplayer adds a lot more fun and chaos. If you are interested in this game, or even just roguelikes in general. Overall, I 100% recommend you pick it up, as for a very low price you get a unique, fully functional, and most importantly, fun game with amazing replayability. (things seldom seen in indie games.)

Its a good game, pretty good communities on yt and wherever else, (the chat can get toxic but who tf cares) and even though i have enjoyed it and do think its partly disingenuous, i cant recommend even with all these hours. I used to be fine with bots, i'd have to queue maybe 2-3 times to find a lobby of humans and be ready to votekick any that came, but recently casual has been completely unplayable. I have queued 20+ times and find no humans. The only way to play the game is community servers, and new players shouldn't be subjected to those. I wont change this review until valve stops alerting us about crappy events and fixes the game, or at the very least turns it over to better, more capable/willing hands. I know the tfteam is small, but these fixes really shouldnt be that hard to implement, and if they are, the team has had so much time to work on and implement them already that it shouldn't matter. I love this game, but I can't in good faith tell a new player to pick it up.
