Genuinely really enjoy this game, but the combat feels incredibly unbalanced, like either you are meant to enter every fight with 3 friends or severely overleveled in order to not get 1-2 shot by the common creature of the newest area you've unlocked. The combat feels like you need to treat every individual enemy that approaches you as a boss fight or you will get very quickly overwhelmed. In my first playthrough, me and a friend attempted the Bonemass, and when the boss was the only thing on the field, we were doing incredibly well, but the boss began to just wander into the swamp, gathering groups of draugr and several abominations. The abominations killed us more than the actual boss, and once we dealt with them the boss was easy, until he gathered more random enemies. It feels like all the combat is like this, being forced to treat every individual encounter as slowly as possible in hopes they don't gather 3x as many enemies as you can handle, and that just is not fun. I am going to complete this game no matter how hard it is, ive 100%'d elden ring, and i will revisit this review when i get there. hopefully something clicks with the combat, and every single encounter isn't completely overwhelming.

As fun as this game is, there are multiple absolutely game breaking bugs that are unavoidable or fixable, and therefore i cannot recommend a game in that state. Some examples include Achievements not unlocking, and requiring an entire restart, losing all your gun upgrades permanently after the nipulon fight, only being able to reequip mods but having to manually do so after every loading zone or death, enemies getting spawned inside terrain, and bosses occasionally just A posing after death or mid fight.

Coilheads are incredibly fast, but cannot move when you look at them. Despite knowing this, I still ♥♥♥♥ myself every time one runs up on me.

it IS fun, SOMETIMES, but you WILL be suspended because someone decided to spam report you for telling them to shut up after they were being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. also i have never seen a game with worse matchmaking in my entire life. I got banned for a month because someone on my team said "Wow all of you are trash" and I said "No just you"

My favorite thing about rogue-like or random combat games like this is the ability to learn and adapt with the basic tools you are given. This game doesnt have that. It doesnt matter how many times youve played, how much you know about the "Look at the enemy and decide which angle to attack with" battle mechanic, because if a single enemy, on the easiest difficulty, hits you once, you have to restart the entire run. It doesnt matter how good I am, how many times ive ran a game, if i accidentally stop paying attention to the wrong enemy, they instantly one shot me. I stop enjoying a game when i have to do the same thing with zero variety after about an hour, and ive reached past that quota, but i might revisit this review.
