Solid game overall, last MK I ever played was MK9 and this is a huge step up IMO.
Gameplay is smooth, mechanics-wise it has its intricacies that you gotta learn, but that's part of the fun.
The fighting itself is a blast: pacing is good, allows for mind games and comebacks, punishing and playing smart feels rewarding. I've played like 10 online matches only 'cuz I spend my time in the lab mostly and I had just a single desync, so I can't really say anything more on that matter.
Customization is nice to have, albeit grindy AF if you want a specific skin or a kosmetic item but hey, they gotta keep you playing somehow, right?
The Krypt is a bit grindy, too, but then again - they gotta keep ya playing :D

Overall I can recommend the game if you love MK and fighting games in general.
