Measurably better than others of its genre.
Be the bug, crawl the dungeon, support indie creators.

Play FlyKnight.

For those of us who Live and Drink, but weren't here in time for the backer bonus.

Beat the game in just under 3 hours on the basic difficulty, but enjoyed every minuet of it.
I'm willing to bet the skill ceiling is way up there, assuming you have the mullet for it.

Great game, give it just ten seconds and you'll be hooked.

The game itself is great, one of the best TDS games out there.
But the Kiwi team blatantly wants your money, and locks some accessibility features behind a paywall (At least in BTD5 it could be purchased with MM)

Plus the multiplayer features are lacking, the Terrain Battles and Clans system doesn't allow for basic communication.

Hard to describe it as anything other than "Best of its kind."
Any of its few problems can be modded out, and the game sees consistent support.

The community seems to suffer from PTSD but that aside this game is brilliant, well worth your time and money.

Most pleasant blind find of the year.

Charming, difficult, and visually appealing. (With good music and sounds to boot.) Well worth your time and money, plus, indie dev.

The game itself is good, if not a little too easy.

The Dev team is loud, opinionated, and rather annoying. It is their most recent Twitter Post that made me finally write down a negative review.
If you don't interact with the devs and the fan-base then the game is alright, not $25 good but its worth picking up when its on sale. (The soundtrack is a highlight.) Just don't expect anything beyond the surface level.

Its not hard to see why the reviews of this game are Overwhelmingly Positive, it deserves it.
Easily accessible, great atmosphere, fun to talk about.

That being said, from a technical side of things I found the experience... lacking.
Spoilers:
The achievements require replaying a game that is starkly lacking in replayability. There is no player agency, we are just along for the ride. So adding achievements that are meta (Yimpy, 360, Good Ending) and arbitrarily hidden employee cards actively distract from the story at hand.
SOMA, a game with (some) agency, had its achievements pop throughout the story no matter what path you chose, this avoids the pitfall of distracting achievements + needing to replay the game with a guide open to make sure you snag cards during the right sequence.

It relies heavily on tropes for its scares, I wish it focused more on the horror of humanity and less on the horror of sexy horse centipedes.

As of writing this review Boneraiser Minions is a better buy, but at $5 why not pick them both up?

Its charming, consistent, and has interesting build options.

This DLC commits the sin of adding achievements to the base game.

It also costs as much as the base game (when its on sale) and it is just not worth that price.
It adds very little, and what it does add is artificially difficult. (IE: just unlock upgrades bro, then its not so hard)
