Well well well... I can wholeheartedly recommend this game out of my own free will! The problem being that mentioning even ANYTHING is basically spoiling the game... So as always go in blind and accept your fate.
If that isn't convincing enough and some information is neccesary... Trust goes a long way you know! On both sides!

The one and only Mita... is waiting for you to join her after all! I also don't have any regrets left after joining! Nor do the other players whose names I saw.
Now from the other side of view...: I had played the 2023 demo all the way back before so I already had some kind of idea what this would be. But the kind of twist and turns this game pulled... playing off certain wall breaks™ is always a delight. Why the trailer shows a chainsaw etc is very peculiar indeed... I don't recall these things ever happening... But hey look! There's cool Mita over there! She's got a cap and gloves. And don't even let me get started on the minigames. The actual games with characters felt like a fever dream (The dance game must have been a dream..) while the other ones could be literal small games with the polish they got. Definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had. It wasn't just fun. I've got respect for the passion behind the project and all the little shenanigans they managed to fit in here. Who could have guessed that there's so many unique ways to break the established game logic.

It seems like my time is up! Such a shame... such a shame. Oh well. It can't be helped. There's a no point in fighting the destined meeting. See you on the other side.

I really thought the conclusion of the main story would leave me with melancholy. But after having some time to think about it... I just feel nothing anymore nor do I have anything to say... Which I never would have expected for a series like this. It's doesn't even have to do with chapter 8 in particular.. It's just hard to explain. Never had an experience like this/would have expected a big wall of text explaining how the conclusion affects everything inside the series under the guise of a review. But that (sadly) won't happen this time. There's 1 thing I have to mention though... That literally nobody not even Takano dies is certainly surprising for this series. But I guess the "It's only "an" ending" schtick also answers that.

If you made it this far in the series... Then I salute you. You now may have a curse of getting scary flashbacks everytime you hear the (actual) higurashi cry.

Well... This is indeed quite the atmospheric title! Highly recommend going in blind and questioning sanity and such. (Im sure the neat puzzles will make you question your sanity... probably) Or just pet the cat 10 times. The weird/lovely part for me is the fact that this game has this subtle kind of.. humor I suppose? It's not really doing jokes per say. But there's these rare moments that definietely got a chuckle from me. If you ever had some kind of trauma with mannequins, then this game may or may not make you appreciate them.

Definitely a great game! It teaches us that "there's always another way" just like in Project Kat... I'll make sure to bring a bucket with me everywhere I go... And scissors too while we're at it. Then there's the big amount of secrets which might make you go insane.Why the heck is the damn clock from the loading screen at the beginning in the damn facility section for no apperent reason?! And of course the so called "map" doesn't even include a name for that room... Im sure we'll get answers for that... surely. And then there's also the neat OST! Start the game and you'll surely get immersed. If it's gonna be the OST.. the neat characters.. or the cursed trees (There are no cursed trees) I cannot answer that for you. What I can say is... you should meet Rune.

So yeah! You should go ahead and buy it.
What do you mean this gem of a game is free?!

This game does show the concept of the so called "narrator" justice! (Let's not forget the lovely endings which are always fun! In a masochistic way that is cough cough.) Going from witty remarks in a serious tone to adding very peculiar details at a moment's notice! (In brackets that is... probably to humor themselves... loved some of the rather "detailed" descriptions.)
Let's ignore some of the foreshadowing for this occasion shall we? It is likely a trap.. and has no effect on the story whatsoever.

-Spoilers for the ending-

The fact that the witch ties into the end like that was a very pleasant surprise. Going from having the fate of the title... to having the title used against the player themselves for making it through was my highlight.

So go and win some love! (And challenge fate that is.)

Gotta love the MC and his nonchalant way of not having a care for the world! (at least at the beginning that is) Definitely one of the most inspiring things out there. Add a little bit of insanity, endings which may or may not have hidden meanings, stuff that one could consider as lovely sadism (even though there isn't any... probably) and a very handsome doctor (especially his hollow face). With it all... you'll get uh.. a "unique" experience dare I say. The title says/teaches it all! So do what must be done.. and let fate make the "right" choice. Kill or Love.

I mean... There sure are alot of fun things out there... Like questioning your own sanity and such! But to annoy the so called "Narrator" in this game is definitely also on that list! Add the fact that there's too many endings to count and the unique voices which may or may not be helpful.. (They are) And you got yourself a path to somewhere nice probably. The Narrator is a really enjoyable character! So give the game a shot and you may find reasons to annoy/please him too! Im sure the different and neverending voices in your head can help you with that task.

Chapter 7...This one sure did answer alot! That "would" be the case for me too! If it weren't for the fact that there's still some questions left...(Im sure nothing can go wrong! This is one chapter away from the finale after all!)Very interesting decision to go into that direction with an entire chapter. Espacially with such a delightful beginning! This might as well be destined fate or fated destiny for all I know.But oh well...If somehing brought you this far...then making it further shouldn't be a problem!Unless they decide to make some kind of sadistic ending...Then I'd say "Ignorance is bliss"[Maybe that's what I actually want in secret].I'll repeat one statement again though. They really went out of their way with the music again!\(>▽<)/

[MAJOR SPOILERS-READ THIS ONLY IF YOU FINISHED THIS CHAPTER AND EVERYTHING BEFORE]

Haha...Time loops you say? They sure enjoy answering everything in the most sophisticated way possible. As mentioned before...Im quite surprised they chose to tell the story from Rika's point of view to basically "explain" everything. This chapter brought something incredible yet again! A choice that isn't in the tips section! This makes it the 2nd time and improves everything! First the "credits" scenes starting Ch.3...The first ever choice from Ch.4...The first time playing different people in Ch.5...(If we ignore tips cough)the first cg in Ch.6...now with the comeback of "choice",time loops,fate,destiny...and the big significance they add...I do wonder what kind of things Ch.8 will bring.

Chapter 6 Chapter 6 Chapter 6...It's getting increasingly harder to write stuff here as the amount of information is kinda beyond my own comprehension...So I would leave it at that! but...Im also pretty sure they held the people who created the music at gunpoint or something...It's really impressive how many new good tracks came from this chapter! This isn't the beginning of a different arc like chapter 5...So it was very surprising that so many tracks flourished!(Not that Im complaining...)I can definitely say...This might be my new favorite chapter! There's only one way to go if you reached this page and made it this far! Im sure you will find meaning to all things beyond.

I always brought up the fact that Rika is my favorite character...Espacially after we saw the sophisticated way of thinking she has in chapter 4/bonus...but...after reading this...This is getting rather confusing/very interesting the longer this goes on...Besides that...This chapter showed rather well why Rena is a fan favorite. Cough might join that group depending on how everything ends Cough. They really hit a home run with the finale on this one...Seems like Rena's smile is as angelic as Rika's after all! But instead of rambling...I think the following should be enough to understand the characters!(Probably...Maybe...Likely...Possibly...)

This chapter is kinda unique as it starts the 2nd arc!Hereby you'll get very subtle changes that don't necessarily change major things but are very nice as it gives a different feeling this time.You'll get to enjoy alot of new music,alot of new scenery and last but not least...A title screen that has half of it scratched off with new positioned buttons!!!If that new start screen doesn't convice you...then I don't know what does.It's not like you'll only see it for like 15 seconds. This time you can seek the truth with Shion!Character development is always nice...right?
Maybe she also has an angelic smile like Rika!

Hahaha...What the actual hell do you call this?Like I don't even know what to say with the fact that they bamboozled (most) of us with the Shion Mion situation...I definitely did NOT expect that...but then again...The curse thingy is still a good bait...Basically almost all my theories were destroyed like they were nothing... My major question is still though: "Why does Rika have this cute little syringe with psychostimulants" or "Why does Tomitake show the same symptoms..."Why would they even use it against him...That would be nice to know.Im sure Rika can still be saved!Maybe... What can we learn from all of this you ask? I have absolutely no idea!I can't even theorize if the people getting possesed is real...So I'll just shut up for now before I'll seal my fate with some "random" assumption.But I'll do 1 vague assumption!I bet that the credits scene has 100 hidden secrets like the one from chapter 3 with the "disaster".But as of completing this chapter...I don't see anything out of the ordinary...I will 100% regret this statement in the future
