Still has some issues, but w/ the newly added mod support is now worth recommending.

Early Access Review
A near perfect game and great fix for all those who got laughed at, pitied or insulted after showing a teenager Factorio.

If you want your inventory sorted, you have to do it manually!!!!

EDIT: The issue has been at least partially solved in the latest update. There is now a limited sort function.

Still the uncontested no. 1 City Builder out there -- a bit dated perhaps, but still king of the genre by leaps and bounds.

It's not a Horizon: Forbidden West or an Elden Ring, but Elex II is still a good RPG with the courage of walking its own path. The timing of the release seems quite unfortunate and the quality of the game is more like a 7.5/10 rather than the 8-9/10 we were hoping for, but this sequel is in every way better than its predecessor so if you enjoyed that you should like this one even more. If you never played Elex I suggest watching a Let's Play or reading up on it before jumping into Elex II, it still represents, overall, quite an accomplishment for such a small studio with such a limited budget but it's not exactly something I'd recommend to everyone, especially in light of other recent releases which are quite epic.

A surprisingly enjoyable experience so far, hard to describe as it is neither a CRPG nor a purely tactical experience such as XCOM but something in between, with very light CRPG elements, robust tactical combat which is certainly the back-bone of the game but doesn't dwarf every other aspect as it does in XCOM, leaving abundant space for the legion management element (somewhat reminiscent of Wrath of the Righteous' Crusader command), crafting and other significant systems that come together surprisingly well and make for a truly decent ride, if a bit linear.

The game deserves praise also for another element that is not that common nowadays: its historical accuracy. The devs really went above and beyond in making Expeditions: Rome true to Roman history and culture, as is evident by details such as the Latin pronounciation of Roman terms that would normally be anglicanized in an English videogame.

EDIT: I'm happy to add that the game gets even better as you progress, both story-wise (which is enjoyable, true to history and fully voice acted, too), in its CRPG component (which is certainly shallow but still somewhat deeper than I had described it), and in its tactical combat core as well, as it really comes together very well once you level up enough to unlock the bottom skill tiers and grasp how best to equip, train and use your men in battle. I would certainly urge anyone who's interested in Expeditions: Rome to download the free demo and try the game out for themselves.

Manages to be both more complex as well as more accessible than its predecessor. A true masterpiece.
