I only play for CO-OP horde mode. It is so worth it. I love the perks and item variety.

Good game. Play, shoot sh*t, and pass time. 127vs127 is cool too.

Before I write anything about the game, I am a stalker fan that played the originals back in early 2010's, and got into trouble for getting jumpscared by scary mutants. I played the original games multiple times, then bought them on steam to play them again. I also played 100's of hours of modded stalker and tried countless mods. So I am no "I saw this game's trailers graphics look good" type of gamer.

If you don't want to read, I can understand you and I agree with you, but this has to be said.

In short I hate the story, characters, gameplay loop and mechanics, ui, hud, ai, crashes and bugs, economy and progression, endings, quests, side quests, combat, bosses, factions, short day and night cycle. For now these are all I can remember but I am pretty sure I have even more.

I liked only the graphics, new bayun cat mutant, open world map that combines all maps from older games and removes loading screens for transitioning, gun and ammo variety, attachments, npc models, weather, and referances to the old games. Besides these, I am struggling to find aspects of this game that I like.

We return to the zone years after the final game COP, as the main character Skiff. He's just a random dude that we get to control and in a way that's good, because atleast they did not introduce a new character to overshadow the previous ones even more. We still interacted with old characters, but still the addition of new factions do gratly overshadow the og characters and I will talk about that more.

We have new factions. Ward which is like the new military that works for CIRCA, wheras the military is only found is zalysia and cordon. Wards are everywhere throughout the zone. Not only that, but they play a massive part in the story while most other factions have been pushed to the side.

Duty is in shambles, they have one of their old high ranking officers roaming around drunk shooting mutants, they lost rostok to Freedom, their base is in an insignificant place that by the time you get the chance to go there, you won't even care to. You almost never see Duty. I played on 1.0 and saw them only once in garbage.

Freedom became a Loners faction reskin with green camo. Their leader even mentions a lot about making a fortune and it seems like their focus is no longer "Freedom" in the zone.

So these two have become nothing more than Loner faction reskins, lost their identities and importance related to the story.

Bandits are found on zalysia cordon and garbage, other than that they are a rare sight. They are whatever, nothing spectacular about them. I would be surprised if they somehow managed to mess this faction up, but it's ok.

Mercs are very rare, I saw them in wild zone near rostok, and in rostok arena. I can't remember any other Mercenary sightings. They used to be so cool. A secret group working for foreign clients. They would work with other factions only to betray them for most of the time. They would ambush the player over secret documents, they would assault cordon village, etc. No more, they are just bandits with cool guns.

Spark is an annoying one. At the start you go to zalysia, ward are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and you want to side with the stalkers, but you end up having to join spark... It's a subfaction among stalkers started by the stalkers that helped the scientists in COP, their goal was to discover the zone's secrets, but then a Crazy mad extrovert man brainwashed by the Stalker program gets in charge. His name is Scar, but he is not. Idc if he got brainwashed at the end of clear sky, he does not act like the badass quiet introver merc that I played as a kid. We then learn that this moron works for the c consciousness.

I hate both ward and spark, they take up the majority of the game's main quests. I don't want these factions, I want more of stalker and this is not it.

Then we have the "corps" it's a faction that looks just like mercs, but it is led by degtayrev. We are given little to no explanation about them and I would not care about another faction to be honest.

You can not get to CNPP and Limansk. They will be paid DLC it seems like. I finished the game being very disappointed how we teleport from pripyat to this new place near the CNPP and then we teleport to a totally unrelated part of the map to reach the c consciosness. If you have played the original games, you'd know that it's supposed to be in or near the CNPP.

Gameplay wise, they upgraded very little from the late 2000's game mechanics they had on the old games. I wasn't expecting something comparable to escape from tarkov or modded stalker, but I would expect some more refinements. Also Idk what it is, but this game has that made for consoles and devs thought firstly about console type of vibe. I can't explain why entirely, but from the ui to the hud to the combat and the ai, it feels like a AAA gaming company's soulles shooter open world games.

Mutant HP is a joke. Whoever set the values for mutant health points has no idea on how to design a good "difficult" game. You can't just increase hp stats and brag your game is challenging. It only makes it more iritating and more ammo/time consuming to kill mutants. You have to kill so many bloodsuckers that it no longer becomes this engaging fight against a really cool mutant. In this game their hp is that of pseudo giants in the previous games. We don't have pseudodogs, instead we only have psi dogs which ♥♥♥♥ out 20 copies of themselves with very low cooldown.

I hate the economy and how most items are so easy to obtain. Even compared to other games, I find far more items everywhere and it breaks the economy.

Most main story quests are terrible and they feel unneccessary/unimportant or made just to extend the gameplay time required and have a purpouse for you to go to different places in the zone. You clear out a compound only to talk to strelok on the screen and leave. So many insignificant and poorly designed quests.

Side quests are mostly bad too. I'd go to a place to rescue some stalkers, the guy tells me to shoot the apples placed on top of the heads of three stalkers I am supposed to rescue. I do it and leave. Feeling 0 accompalishment. They serve nothing more than waste of time quests to farm money. They feel like my essays written on the last day.

I hated the endings. Spark one was bad okay, but why on earth is Skiff trying to spread the zone to the entire planet because he spared the doctor and he ends up being faust? Am I the only one not seeing the connection here? Ward ending was a good "bad" ending, Strelok ending was the best, but him hating the doctor was weird.

Small things I hated about the game all dumped here:
*Headshot hitsound, makes the combat feel less serious and intense, besides as far as headshot sounds go, it's not even a good one.
*blood getting sprayed into the air after headshots, breaks immersion and looks ugly.
*medkit vodka beer effects being far too exxagerated and playing weird sounds for no reason after use.
*binocular missing from the game
*7.62x39 9x39 and some other ammunitions not sold on traders
*too many unneccessary stashes even in the harder areas of the zone
*interactions such as reloading switching weapons etc. being too slow compared to the pacing of combat with mutants and stalkers
*stealth mechanics that are even worse and more outdated than skyrim's
*day and night cycle being too short
*amount of ai you have to fight for story quests even exceeds stalker SOC (it becomes stupid after having to beat 10 exoskeleton ward talkers spawning at once mid fight and charging at you all at the same time) You need to kill a large town worth of people in order to beat this game

Many other things that I highly disagree with in terms of game design. I found myself playing a game that felt like the devs chose all the bad ending options when developing their own game. I disagree with most things.

Assasins creed, but far better. First of all it's not made by ubi-softpp. There are many creative ways to play the game. Lethal or non lethal, stealth or guns blazing loud. Great satisfying kill animations. Varying ways to eliminate your enemies. Two playable characters with each having equally unique and beautiful skill trees. Abilities such as freeze time, teleport, mind control, cloning yourself and many more. Maps are designed with great attention to detail. You can play the same level more than once and take a different path for replayability. Your actions like killing effect the ending. Just like the first game, the art style of this game with these graphics make it a timeless classic. Despite being 8 years old, it still looks beautiful. All these I just listed make up for a banger game. Definately a must play.

I am kind of done with gaming single player games, but after playing this game for half an hour I really liked how creative certain things were with the game. Without giving spoilers, the reveal at the start of the game is nice and I also liked the mechanics of the utilities/skills.

Coming from aoe2, it's not all that hard to get used to. It's similar to both aoe2 and aoe3 and it is easy to get into. Great rts game for casual players.
