i preordered this thing on ps4 in 2016 and i was so sad when it dropped. 8 years later and finally it's the game it was supposed to be and more

Team 17 have absolutely destroyed this game...

It's definitely not as fully fledged as any other total war game, and I would not recommend it as your first total war buy. But if you've played total war games before (especially the historical ones) then I would still give this a go.

The new mechanics are a fun change in my opinion and I kind of feel it makes the game slightly more realistic.

I would only buy this game on sale, it's really enjoyable if you are interested in the era. Personally, I love the timeline and the entire setting so it makes it super enjoyable to play. I actually really rate this game, it's loads of fun.

Although I get that the VOIP is what people may play this game for, it can be extremely annoying when everyone just spams songs from their phones into their mics. And yes I know I cant mute them but it just annoys me that I can't talk to anyone without them just being extremely loud.

The land battles are not great as the spawns are really far away from any combat and it takes forever to "run" over there just to fire and miss constantly with your enemy. However the 150 player servers are amazing

The naval battles were the highlight for me, as I loved sailing in a little gunboat charging into the French fleet with my crew all getting hyped, just for us to get destroyed by a full broadside. We then were picked up by a friendly lifeboat and we attempted to board an enemy gunboat all whilst screaming and chanting. It was hilarious.

Overall the game is just way too clunky, and it really ruins it for me. The bigger ships seem fun but they are just so irritating as your character seems to get stuck on everything. The big cannons are infuriating as loading a shot is instant but pushing the canon takes like 10 seconds. Also steering the ship is awful as there are no visual clues and its either full speed or nothing at all. The game is just too clunky and feels more like someone's home project than a fully fledged game.

It's super fun when you've got friends to play it properly, however when your friends aren't on, there's no point playing; half the lobby will instantly leave as soon as they find out they aren't an imposter, people wont type or try at all and will randomly vote people off without saying why and most people just leave as soon as they die so games are finished in about 2 minutes.

This is everything I wanted in a racing game. SO many cars in SO many classes, absolutely great tracks, the cars feel so good to drive and sound amazing. The crashes are spectacular and feel real. I love how you can change the game to how you want to play it; if you want a casual experience then turn damage, tyre wear and fuel consumption off and chill with harmless AI an enjoy the tracks, or you can have the full experience and put every setting on and make it feel so real. I also love that you can go from Karting on a small track to Nascar on an oval track, to F1 on the Red Bull track to Rallycross at Lyden Hill then go do some GT3 races and the Nurburgring or do some Clio Cup racing at Donnington park. Honestly there is so much to do and it all comes with the game. Overall the game looks and sounds amazing and the tracks are so well done and there is so much to do and they feel amazing to drive. It's a must buy.

DO NOT BUY AT FULL PRICE. Honestly the units you get in this DLC are quite meh in game. But if you just want to have the feeling of YEETING SNAKES into a city then it's pretty fun. The only good units are the armoured camels and elephants, maybe the dogs but the onagers and ballistas are just memes and the infantry units are nothing special. Just buy it when it goes on sale.
