Lots of potential performance is the big issue, but considering it just dropped early access not very surprising.

Originally left a negative review but single player goes hard and is very fun. They did a terrible job with the multiplayer at release so unfortunately it is a little dead and doesn't live up to what it could have been.

I have played 1 campaign so far and I find it interesting that people are complaining that this game is easy, I have played every single total war game except for Shogun 2 and I lost on normal difficulty.... My king died, his weak heir couldnt keep the really really powerful nobles in check and they started a civil war. When I was about to win my civil war they invited Wessex (West Saxe) into the war, and since Wessex was the most powerful faction (I was East Anglia) they and their vassals overran my severly weakened state. I found this game to run extremely well, wayyyy better than Attila ever did and that was my favourite title. I also watch the shows The Last Kingdom and Vikings so Im already excited about this time period, adding a little bias. The new mechanics make the game way more interesting, like whether or not you support the English or your Army (I found it not too difficult to maintain a balance). There is also far more political intrigue with influence being a huge factor. This game in many ways feels like the total war version of Crusader Kings. While it is a little high on the price in my opinion it is worth it. With each faction group offering a new story line and mechanics I could easily get a few hundred hours out of the single player campaign alone.

Steps to have a good time
1. Spawn as captain
2. Gather all the musicians
3. Get 30 people to form a horizontal line
4. Walk (dont run) towards the enemy, while firing
5. Repeat until you lose but had fun anyway

-Sneak into enemy lines
-Bless them with your music


Other scenerio
-Play public line battle
-have great time.

10/10 would play this game all day

-Squad loads up in jeeps and an apc.
-Goes on big flank to attack enemy positions.
-Runs into enemy convoy of apcs, eats them for breakfast.
-Goes full throttle into town to secure area.
-Kills all Russian forces.
-Takes town.
-Under siege rest of the game because Russians want it back.
-Lose all vehicles, get cut off.
-Epic fight until game ends.
11/10 recommend this game, best alpha ive played.

Great game but ever since the latest patch whenever I try to play the campaign it just freezes and stops working.
